“I heard Harold has been into Isabella for a long time. He’s just been waiting for her and Ethan to split up.”
Nadine looked over at Isabella, her eyes filled with jealousy. She liked Harold, but Harold only had eyes for Isabella.
She let out a sigh and turned to Natalie. “But you really don’t need to worry. We’ve all seen how good Ethan is to you.”
“You’re married to Jordan now anyway. You should just focus on your life with him.”
Natalie scanned the crowd, spotting Jordan across the room laughing with a group of executives. “Jordan’s busy,” she said quietly.
“I just don’t get it. What does Isabella have that I don’t? Family, education, talent, I measure up in every way. But Ethan’s stopped loving me. He’s fallen for Isabella too.”
Nadine said, her jealousy showing, “Exactly. She’s just some extra baggage who moved in with the Lane family after her mom remarried.”
Then she shrugged. “But feelings don’t make any sense.”
“Come on, let’s go talk to our friends.”
“I don’t feel like it. You go ahead.”
“Don’t do anything stupid. There are too many people here. If you cause a scene like last time, it’s not worth it.”
Nadine was talking about when Natalie tried to get Sophia to drug Isabella.
The second Nadine brought it up, Natalie’s eyes darkened with hate.
She remembered how, at parties before, she was always the center of attention. People might not have treated her like a celebrity, but everyone wanted to be close to her.
That was all because Ethan was so devoted. Everyone here could see how much he cared about her.
His affection made her the star of every event, with people falling over themselves to please her.
She watched Natalie carefully, clearly on guard.
Natalie paused, then forced a laugh. “You’re right. You’ve always been beautiful.”
Isabella’s voice was cool. “You don’t have to pretend to be friendly. Every time you do, I get on edge. I keep thinking you’re planning something against me.”
Natalie’s face changed.
A hurt look flashed across her features as she turned to Ethan. “Ethan, did you hear her? I came over to say something nice, and all she does is throw barbs at me. She acts like I’m some kind of criminal.”
Isabella didn’t back down. “I’m worried you’ll slip something in my drink again. Treating you like a criminal is being polite.”
She stood up and turned to Harold. “Harold, let’s go get some air.”
She couldn’t stand another second watching Natalie fake her way through the night.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
