Slyvie had teased her, saying she was being used and that Norman would eventually abandon her without ever giving her a formal status.
Well, in that case, she would just demand that status!
Meanwhile, Norman was completely stunned. He wondered if he was ex hallucinations from pure exhaustion.

“What did you say?”
“I said, let’s get married!”
His mind drifted further into a daze. Married? The two of them? How did the conversation even get here?
Seeing his lack of reaction, Tammy assumed he was unwilling. Her temper flared instantly. She grabbed him by the collar with her one good hand and threatened, “You don’t want to marry me? You just want to take advantage of me for free?”
“…Where on earth are you learning these phrases?”
“Slyvie said it! He said you were just—”
“Mmph!”
Norman clamped a hand over her mouth, determined not to hear that word again. Tammy blinked innocently, her gaze fixed stubbornly on him as she waited for an answer.
Defeated, Norman let out a long breath. “Fine, fine! We’ll get married! It’s not the end of the world!”
Her frustration evaporated instantly, and her eyes crinkled into a smile. “Let’s go! Let’s go do it right now!”
“No! You have to let me prepare first.”
“Prepare what?”
“Marriage is complicated. There’s a lot to arrange. Anyway, leave it to me. You don’t need to worry about a thing.”
Tammy hated overthinking things, so she happily agreed. Norman looked at her radiant face and made a silent vow. Since they were getting married, he couldn’t let her suffer. To marry the woman he loved, he would have to give it his all.

“Still no word on the master’s whereabouts?”
“Supposedly, he went to Bellwood in Hindersville. We lost contact shortly after.”
“We must bring him back as soon as possible! The family is in chaos, and we need a leader. The head of the household won’t last much longer!”
“To Bellwood, then!”
“Mommy, isn’t Alita back yet?”
Tammy had been missing for so long that even the two little ones were starting to worry. Tatiana didn’t want them to fret, so she lied and said Tammy was away for a secluded training
camp.
But Ann and Hubert weren’t so easily fooled. They were far too bright for their own good.
“Mommy, Alita always tells us before she goes to training! You’re lying to us!”
With no other choice, Tatiana told them the truth. She expected them to burst into tears, but to her surprise, they remained remarkably calm. Instead, they comforted her.
“It’s okay, Mommy. Alita is so strong! She’ll definitely come back safe!”
In their young minds, the incredibly powerful Tammy was like a superhero–invincible and destined to return. Tatiana felt a weight lift from her heart, though her own anxiety remained. It had been nearly a month since the disappearance. Having found nothing after such a long search, she began to wonder if they were even still in Bellwood.
That evening, during their scheduled meeting, she raised the question to Jasper. He narrowed his eyes and immediately dismissed the possibility.
“No, they’re still here.”
Tatiana rested her chin on her hand, waiting for him to explain. She didn’t realize how alluring the gesture was; Jasper’s gaze darkened, and his voice took on a slight‘
py edge.
“Bellwood’s geography is unique. Aside from one cross–sea bridge, the only way out is by plane or boat. These routes are strictly monitored. Slipping away unnoticed would be nearly impossible.”
She considered this and agreed. Bellwood was essentially Jasper’s domain now; leaving without his knowledge would be a monumental task. But the question remained: where were they?
“We’ve searched everywhere…”

“Perhaps not everywhere.”
She frowned. “What do you mean?”
:
“There are places that haven’t been touched yet.”
“Such as?”
“Certain grey–market industries.”
The realization hit her instantly. She stood up, ready to act. “I’ll go look…o it now.”

She was a woman of action, but before she could take two steps, a warm hand circled her wrist. The grip was light–she could have pulled away easily–but she stopped.
“Yes?”
Jasper sighed softly. “I know you’re worried about her, but could you perhaps wait until tomorrow? It wasn’t easy for me to get this dinner with you. Won’t you stay and eat a few bites for my sake?”
There was a hint of genuine vulnerability in his tone. Tatiana smiled. “And if I say no?”
