Chapter 659 A Man’s Heart

He went through all the details in a gentle, measured voice.

When Liam decided to be good to someone, he was really good.

She’d experienced it before-that’s why she’d fallen so hard.

It was only later, when she refused to stay a housewife and wanted a career, that their friction started. His warmth faded bit by bit.

Now, because of the baby, that tenderness was back.

She wrung her hands, “Liam, when are we remarrying?”

He paused, “No rush.”

“But I’m in a hurry. Once the bump shows, I won’t be able to hide it. What will people think?”

Just stay home. You won’t need to go out. I’ll bring you whatever you want.”

Sherry looked at him in disbelief, “Are you trying to lock me up?”

Liam sighed, “Why would you think that? The doctor said your pregnancy is unstable-no strenuous activity. Did you forget?”

That calmed her down a bit. She pouted, “But I want to be with you. Don’t you want to see the baby grow a little every day?”

“Be good. I’ll come by often. Tell me if you need anything. You hungry? I’ll make you some pasta.”

“Okay.”

Liam rolled up his sleeves, checked the kitchen, and started cooking.

Sherry watched his back, thinking about their history, and felt her eyes sting.

She really loved him.

She genuinely wanted to go back to how things used to be.

But the man she loved didn’t seem to feel the same way.

She got up barefoot, walked over, and wrapped her arms around him from behind.

“Liam… we’re going to remarry, right?”

“Mm.

“How long will it take?”

“Don’t rush. Let me finish up what’s on my plate. You know my father still has issues with you -I need to handle that.

“Then… don’t keep me waiting too long

“Be good.”

He made her the pasta, watched her eat, coaxed her to sleep, and only then got up to leave.

On the drive back, his face was cold-none of the warmth remained.

He was thinking.

Was remarrying for the sake of the child worth it?

Sure, he wanted a kid. But Sherry no longer measured up as Mrs. Langstrom.

Her worth wasn’t enough.

She couldn’t carry the weight of the family’s future.

What he needed was a strong partner-someone who could handle the ups and downs and support his ambitions.

Tatiana, clearly, was the ideal Mrs. Langstrom.
