Chapter 687 Harbor Blast Swallows Everyone
“Tammy!”
They called to each other across the short distance.
Like a reunion scene from a drama.
Norman watched, his teeth aching with jealousy.
Then he remembered-they were still technically a couple. That made it even worse.
He said bitterly, “Tammy, you ungrateful woman.”
“What? Say that again.”
“I saved you too. You can’t treat me differently.”
His face was full of resentment.
What did that sickly guy have that he didn’t?
“Tammy, can’t you be fair to me?”
She turned, “What?”
“I said, can’t you be fair? Why can he get your favor again, while I’m only a friend?”
Tammy said without thinking, “Because he-”
She stopped.
Norman was still waiting, “Because why?”
Because he’s dying.
She couldn’t say that. It would sound like a curse.
But her silence only made Norman feel worse. He even started plotting how to push Lucas out,
The boat had barely docked when Lucas rushed over, “Tammy!”
“I’m back!”
She beamed and hugged him, “I heard you cracked our code? That’s impressive! I knew you could do it!”.
Lucas looked sheepish, a little guilty, “That’s all I could do. Sorry I wasn’t more useful.”
“Don’t apologize! I don’t want to hear it. Thank you for getting me back safe.”
Lucas said earnestly, “Tammy, welcome home.”
Everyone got off the boat.
The port guards had been taken care of.
The scene was under their control.
When Todd-face a bloody mess-was dragged off, Lucas was surprised, “He’s still alive?”
Tammy shrugged, “Death’s too easy. He’ll be tortured.”
Lucas thought it might leave loose ends-but he remembered their agreement. The other side main demand was Todd in their hands.
So he said nothing.
Norman came down with a sour face.
Seeing them together made him even crankier. He grabbed the back of Tammy’s collar, “Come on. What’re you standing around for?”
