Hearing my mate’s story is hard but I’m glad that she’s willing to talk to us. She’s come from goddess only knows what and is currently sitting in a room with a bunch of big scary looking guys and yet, she not holding back. She’s nothing if not incredibly brave thats for sure.

Not that she has anything to fear from any of us but she doesn’t know that, not yet anyway.

“Where did you come from?” Shane asks bringing my attention back to my mate. “We were Rogues. We were only a small pack. There were maybe thirty of us. They… they killed all the men and some of the women when they put up.a fight and then of course there were the ones that got away and the remaining five were taken to that camp.” I’m going to hunt down every single wolf that is involved in these camps and I’m going to end them all no matter how long it takes.

“So what happened when you met Talon?” Nick asks bringing the conversation back around. “He picked out a girl and told her that she was his and then he told everyone to leave but demanded I stay. It was then that he told me that I was his mate and that I would be trained and prepared so that when I turned 18 I would be ready for him to claim me and… and breed me. This was before I had even heard about any of the rumours.” Yep, he’s dead! I just need to decide on which way I’m going to do it. There are so many possibilities.

“I’ve just thought of a good one!” Cain chimes in my head. “Oh wait, this one is even better!” He sings sounding very proud of himself. If this situation wasn’t so serious I would laugh at the utter excitement that he is showing at killing someone.

“Did you ever ask him about the rumours?” Will asks bringing my attention back to the room. Fuck, he looks as sick as I feel. “I did once.

He… he told me that he was allowed to have as many women as he wanted and that I wasn’t to question him about it. He told me that my job was to be his mate, stand by his side, shut the f… up when told and give him babies. He told me if I questioned him again that I would be sorry. I never brought it up again.””Aria, how long have you known Talon?” Nick asks as he clenches and unclenches his fists on top of his desk. “Two years.” You have got to be fucking kidding me!

Before I can say a word the door to Nick’s office is slammed open and one of our warriors tumbles in through the door being held up by a panting sweaty looking Adrian.

“What the fuck is going on?” Nick shouts as he rises from his chair quickly followed by everyone else in the room. Adrian setttes the warrior onto one of the empty chairs but he barely seems to be conscious while Adrian struggles to get his breath back. “Adrian?” My mate suddenly shouts. His head swings in our direction and I watch as confusion and then complete relief flashes across his face when he sees my mate.

“Aria, you’re ok.” He pants out the words still struggling to catch his breath. She nods her head giving him a small smile and this time I fail at letting out a low growl of warning, and while my mate gives me a confused look, Adrain is quick to pick up on the message and instantly gives me a nod of acknowledgement. Good, glad he got the message.

“As much as I don’t want to break up this reunion can you kindly tell me what the fuck is going on!” Nick growls at Adrian snapping his attention back to him. “Your prisoner… Talon… He’s gone!” He huffs.” You fucking what!” I bellow unable to hold any of my anger back. I feel Aria’s grip on my shirt tighten and look down to see her shaking like a shitting dog and her face as pale as a ghost.

Fuck it all! I wrap my arm around her shoulders and pull her into my side. “What do you mean he’s gone?” Nick growls while everyone in the room gets ready for orders.

Adrian shrugs his shoulder as he rubs his neck clearly in pain. “I was on my way to the bathroom to shower, Josh here was guarding me.” He points at a passed-out Josh who’s sprawled across the chair. “I’ve Linked the doc,” Robbie grunts. Thank fuck he did because I’m so consumed by my mate at the moment that I didn’t even think about it.

“Anyway as we rounded a corner I saw Talon. At first, I thought that I was seeing things but then once I realized that he was here I decidedto follow him and the warriors. I had no idea why he was here but I knew that it wouldn’t be good so I decided to try and find out what was going on, see if I could help you in any way and that’s when all hell broke loose.”.

Ok, and do you know how many guards were with him?”

“Six. When I started getting a bad feeling I counted them to see how outnumbered Josh and I would be.”

“Ok, thank you, Adrian. Connor here will take you to the hospital to get checked over. I will come and see you shortly.” Nick nods toward the door where one of our warriors is waiting to escort Adrian.

“He left here with six guards,” Shane grunts.

“Yep. and those six guards were all our men.” Will growls.

And then it clicks and I instantly want to murder someone. The realisation has me so angry that I struggle to rein in my temper. My mate standing next to me is the only thing that’s keeping me under control right now. “So if what Adrain said is true then that means that three of our guards have turned against us and helped him escape,” | growl.

“Yeah. That’s exactly what has happened!” Nick growls. Fuck!
