Alpha Nicholas novel Chapter 37

I link Robbie telling him that we are heading for the waterfall and leave him to inform the others as I continue moving forward. I kept tracking her scent until I too hit a dead end and it was just as I thought, It was a dead end because of the cliffs that surrounded the waterfall and lake but luckily for me, I know a quick way up them.

We make it to the top in record time and through the narrow forest that sits a few feet wide before opening up to reveal the cliff edge that overlooks the waterfall and lake. As we clear the last of the trees my blood instantly boils when I see what’s going on in front of me. Sanding way too close to the edge is my mate while some guy and girl stand next to her, I can’t see their faces but I get a strange sensation about them. I may not be able to see their faces but I can see that the guy has his fucking hand wrapped around my mate’s throat and at that moment I don’t give a fuck who he is, I’m just ready to tear him apart!

“GET YOUR MOTHER FUCKING HANDS OF MY MATE, NOW!” I roar so loudly that the trees around us shake along with the ground that we are standing on. The moment I storm forward he lets go of her and steps aside and the moment her eyes land on mine I watch as she crumbles to the ground seeming to be scared but relieved all at the same time.

Without me saying a word both Robbie and Shame run towards the guy and girl while I move my ass as fast as I can to get to my mate. I lean down and help her to stand up then wrap my arms around her body and hold her tight as she sags into me. I can feel her slightly tremble and it only adds to my anger.

I turn to face that twat bags that are currently surrounded by several of my guards and find my breath lodged in my throat when I realize that the woman is Lola… Lottie’s mother… “What the fuck are you doing here?” I growl at her. I’m so angry that I can feel Storm right on the surface but I manage to keep control of him and myself… Well, for now anyway. She looks at me without a flicker of concern and smiles, she fucking smiles! “We both know why I’m here, Alpha Nicholas.” Maybe I do but I just don’t understand why she would come here after all this time and why is she here with the asshole that rejected Sophie?

“What the fuck are you doing here, I thought I made it clear that you were to leave my packlands when you rejected Sophie and more importantly why the fuck did you have your hands on my mate? He gives me a disbelieving look which has me confused and then he makes the mistake of trying to take a step forward but gets himself thrown to the ground by Shane and Shane’s knee digging into his back for good measure. “Try that again and I’ll fucking end you!” Shane growls.

Thankfully the twat seems to realize his mistake and instantly holds his hands out in front of him while apologizing. “Forgive me, Alpha. I was sure that you knew who I was and why I was here.” What the fuck is he talking about? “You are the dick head who rejected Sophie that doesn’t explain why you are here.” He was a cocky son of a bitch the last time that we met but he’s not so cocky right now.

Mumbling brings my attention to my mate as she continues to stay in my arms pleasing both Storm and me immensely. “What was that, darling?” She looks up at me with a slight look of worry as she quickly glances between the prick and me and then I feel her start to shake a little and she looks away from me and I fucking hate it.

“I didn’t think Rowan would come for me but I can still understand it. However, I don’t understand why Lottie’s mom came after me. What have I ever done to her?”

I feel him slightly tense before he shifts a little and a sinking feeling hits me deep in my stomach. “She’s here for you, isn’t she?” He seems confused as if he’s struggling to answer me so I give him a moment to work through whatever it is that he needs to work through while I impatiently wait. “Kind of. Look… I… there’s something else that I haven’t told you yet. It’s not that I was keeping it from you, I was just trying to figure out a way to tell you.”

“I can do that.” I shift slightly to face him better as he keeps running his hand through my hair and starts talking. If only his comfort could have been enough to prepare me for what he was about to say…
