Alpha Nicholas novel Chapter 36

Alpha Nicholas

I have every available guard searching for my girl including my brothers, Cole, Tony, and even my dad, and yet it’s been almost an hour and we are yet to find her. Where the fuck is she? “We’ve searched the entire east border but she is nowhere to be seen,” Tony grunts looking seriously pissed off. I know that I lost my shit with him earlier and blamed him for her disappearance but I didn’t mean it, not really but he is blaming himself and I hate seeing it. “She is here somewhere, I just know she is.” I’m not sure if I’m trying to convince him or myself but either way I pray that I’m right.

“Alpha we’re picking up scents towards the north border.” Cole’s voice bellows through our link making my head raffle. “Scents… as in more than one? How many?” As I wait for Cole, I signal for several of my men to come to me, including my brothers and father. “Yes, Alpha. I’m picking up three different scents. We’re by that odd-looking oak tree that sits in the middle.” What the fuck… three scents? “On the way.” I give the guys a quick run down, and then we take off with all we have to get to Cole and see what’s happening.

Thankfully, we weren’t far away from there, and soon Cole’s face comes into view alongside some of my guards as we finally reach them. “Any news?” Cole shakes his head as he looks to his left seeming to study the area. “No, but I can still smell the scents. They seem to be heading towards that area.” He points towards the spot that he was studying just moments ago and I waste no time in heading that way. After a few minutes of walking, I stop and take a moment to stand back and take a deep breath and within seconds my mate’s scent hits me like a ton of bricks causing Storm to whine in my head eager to chase her.

As I approach the area I get mixed feelings and it throws me for a moment. While I’m somewhat happy that I can smell my mate’s scent and want it to be real, another part of me doesn’t want it to be because the thought of her out here with other wolves has my mind going crazy with all the possibilities of what could be happening.

“Can you smell her?” Shane’s voice drags me out of my thoughts which I’m slightly grateful for. I stop still and take a deep breath concentrating on the scents as they begin to clog my nose.

“Yes, her scent is here.” I stand still rooted to the spot as I try to work through all the thoughts that are whirling around in my head. Why are there three scents? The other 2 scents don’t smell familiar to me so who the hell are they? And what’s more, what the hell are they doing with my mate? She only knows her dad and sister here and I know she wouldn’t go out there with them… unless she didn’t get a choice.

I turn around to face the others and send a silent Thank you to Robbie as I hear him issuing out commends to everyone. I may be the Alpha of this pack but right now I couldn’t give a shit. My only focus is my mate and thanks to my brother I don’t need to worry about the rest, for now at least anyway.

“I have several men heading that way from different directions so we can hopefully keep all areas covered. You, me, Tony, Cole, and Shane will go this way.” He points to the direction behind me and within seconds we’re on the move. I don’t know what I’m going to find when I reach my mate but regardless of the situation I just need to find her, I need to know that she’s ok, everything else… we’ll work it out once we’re there.

We try to keep a steady pace not to waste too much time but we still make sure that we cover every inch of the forest along our way. “Keep your nose to the ground, Storm!” I bark my order at him but he’s feeling the same as me right now and pays no attention to my harshness. “Already on it. I can smell her. We’re going to find her.”

He doesn’t say anymore and I’m grateful for it because he doesn’t want to hear what I’m thinking right now. After all, none of them are good. What if the worst has happened? What if we’re too late? Of course, as soon as I think those things I somehow remind myself that if anything bad had happened to her then I would feel it and I don’t but I do still smell her scent so I shake off my thoughts and concentrate on what’s in front of me.

“Anything guys?” I send out a mass link to all of my men that are leading the groups but all I get back are the words “No” and it just pisses me off even more. At first, I wanted to be the one to find her but right now I couldn’t give a shit which one of my men finds her as long as she’s ok then that’s all that matters.

After just a few minutes I start to get a strange feeling in my body while I begin sweating and my heart picks up its pace. I know we are moving fast but not enough to make my body react like this. “It’s our mate, I can feel it too! She’s hurting but her scent is getting stronger so I think we’re close. I swear if someone has hurt her I’ll tear out their fucking heart!” Storm growls. He’s right what I’m feeling is my mate’s emotions and they aren’t good.

“What does it matter to you? You left her and if that wasn’t bad enough you then had the guts to return when she was just 7 years old only to sell your daughter to her own father. Why are you back now?” She has a cooky look spread across her face.

For someone who has a daughter just minutes away from her you’d think she’d be begging to see her but no, instead, she’s here toying with me and loving every moment. , she doesn’t seem to be that bothered about Lottie so why come here now? If anything she has given me more attention in the last five minutes than she has ever given her daughter so her behaviour right now doesn’t make sense.

“That’s enough of the chit-chat, I’m getting bored now. You will find out exactly what’s going on and soon enough but first, I have a few things to get settled with you including a couple of punishments that I owe to you. Luckily for me, we are too far out for anyone to find you. Well, they can but it won’t be easy and could take them days which suits me just fine, I mean can you imagine how much fun we’re going to have while we wait for them to turn up?

I swallow back a response that will only infuriate him more however he doesn’t care what I do or don’t say. He’s ready to hurt me and I’m pretty sure that the lovely Lola isn’t going to do a dam thing to help me, if anything she’ll help him end me sooner. I go to take a step away from him but he just shakes his head with the creepiest smile that I have ever seen plastered across his face. “Not so fast, doggy.” He fakes a dog bark before tightening his hold on my throat until I start to become uncomfortable and slowly feel my breath going shallow.

I look around but I still don’t see anyone then I hear the faintest noise and want to cry with relief when I hear his voice. “GET YOUR MOTHER FUCKING HANDS OF MY MATE, NOW!”
