One great thing about being a werewolf is being able to see in the dark and already the room is clearing up making this easier. Not that It would matter, as I’ve said before I know every inch of my pack lands inside and out and I know exactly where the switchboard is that Tony has used to shit off the lights.
I slow down my steps as I approach him and feel my heart break for my best friend. He has a crazed look on his face but I don’t miss the heartbreak in his eyes. It’s a look I haven’t seen on him since the day his Mate died and one I never wanted to see again.
“I know brother, ok I know.” His eyes shoot up to mine as if he didn’t even hear me coming and it’s worrying to know that his mind is so far gone that he can’t even sense anyone approaching him. “What do you know?”
“I know that seeing her again must be fucking torture for you. I know you’re feeling everything you felt that day all over again. I know that all you want to do right now is kill that bitch in there and I know you’ll go through anyone you have to to do it.” He seems surprised by my answer as if I don’t know every little thing about him but then he nods as his shoulders slightly slump.
“I can’t just do nothing, Nick. She took away my mate. She destroyed my life!”
“I know and I’m not telling you to do that, all I asking is you hold off for now at least.” He goes to cut me off but I stop him. “I’m not saying forever but right now I need to speak to her. I need to know exactly why she’s here. I need to…” I choke on my next words unable to get them out.
“You need to know if she is here for Bonnie?” I nod as I try to work through the shitstorm of emotions that I’m dealing with right now. “Shit, I’m sorry Nick. I didn’t think… I… just… fuck!” He growls. I know he’s feeling guilty right now but that’s not what I want from him.
“Stop that right fucking now! I’m not here to guilt trip you but you know more than anyone how much I need to protect Bonnie from her and so I need all the information that I can get out of her.” He nods his head but instead of looking at me, he looks down at the ground so I walk over to him and pull him in for a hug.
“Yeah, she’s a keeper!” Tony chuckles as he winks at her making Storm growl. “Oh pipe down, Storm. Bonnie and I are going to be great friends but that is all.” Of course, Storm tries to growl some more but I shut his ass down before he can start any shit. I don’t need his crap right now and neither does Tony.
“As much as I am enjoying this fucked up family moment can we get a shift on here and get me unchained so I can get going. I’m getting hungry and seriously fucking bored!” Hearing that prick’s voice only stirs up Storm once more and it’s clear to see that Tony and his wolf are right there with me.
So he’s going to play that game? Oh, this is going to be fun!
