Alpha of the Shadows (Lucianna) novel Chapter 22

Chapter 22

‘As I’m hearing your plan, it sounded like one of our heads will be at stake here.’

‘Jake won’t have the time to cut off our heads while panicking on looking for the lamb, H.’

‘So that’s your plan? Let the lamb wander?’

‘Yes. Are you in?’

‘Fire away.’

My plan was simple. I will just add some fear in Jacob’s head and I know he will be frantic once we lost sight of Lucianna. He needs to feel how to lose his mate or else he will continue to take advantage of the lamb’s softness.

I don’t get why she keep up with him but I wouldn’t judge her resolve. I’m not sure how this mate bond works, anyway.

Sometimes, a little mistake wouldn’t hurt but changes a person, and I need to interfere before Jacob make a huge error that may change a

soul. Her soul.

A woman walked out of Jacob’s office and I entered inside.

“Time’s up for fooling around, Jake. We need to work.” I said as I went inside.

Jacob was already dressed, and not fixing his hair. He doesn’t looked exhausted at all. Argh. What kind of stamina does Alpha have?

I frowned when I noticed that he was taking his things with him.

“Where are you going?”

His eyes squinted as he looked at me. “Home.”

My jaw dropped. What the heck.

“Oh yeah? Gonna add salt to her wound? Since when did you become a jerk?”

Jacob hissed.

“Stop with your nagging, mother,” he smirked as he said the last word so I scoffed. “I’ll just handle her second wave of heat before you accompany her later.”

Ugh.

Chapter 22

What a self-centered bastard. He don’t want Lucianna jumping on anyone, huh? Wasn’t that jealousy?

He walked out of the office and I just shrugged and continue to work, my mind planning ahead.

Lucianna’s POV

32

I haven’t had the chance to contact Ashira when I arrive at Shadow pack. She might be having fun with her mate and the least I want to

do was to disturb her.

I sighed when I had a thought that she might be having the best days of her life right now. Envious didn’t slip on my head, I feel it. While

I’m seated in this cold floor, my best friend might be laughing or waking up with the love of her life. She’s probably loved, too.

But since I need someone to talk to, I decided to dial her number.

I tried calling her a few times but she didn’t pick up.

I sighed and bump my head on the wall.

If only I’m as smart as Ashira.
