Chapter 23

I chuckled upon thinking how these painted my body so beautifully. It’s like I tattooed myself with an abstract and my body acted as the canvass. Suddenly, I’m laughing sarcastically.
The painter was Jacob though.
I hissed, brushing off my thought and decided to end my bath before I had another breakdown.
Walking out of my room and to the kitchen, I decided to grab something for breakfast. I was about to cook for two people but I stopped
halfway.
Scoffing, I decided to cook just for myself. I’m not going to contact Jacob through the mind-link or ask him to eat with me.
No.
I don’t want to see him right now.
Just an hour ago, I felt he stopped fucking his bitches. And three hours before that, I no longer whimpering in pain. But I flinch from time to time as I feel pain from him doing his dirty work.
I placed my breakfast on the table and at the same time, my phone rang. My brows furrowed as I grabbed it and saw my caller was Dylan.
I saved his number last time.
“Hey.” I said as I answer the call and put him on speaker so I could start munching on my food.
I didn’t think he will call me right on time. I needed someone to talk to or else I’ll go insane.
“How’s my girl doing?” he chuckled when I scoffed from what he called me. “I’m just kidding, Luce.”
“Still sounded weird, Dy.” Dylan laughed more. “Why did you call? Everything alright?”
“Can I say I just missed you?”
I chuckled and gulped the food I chomp on. “Yeah, right.” Dylan chuckled, too.
Now, I wonder if Dylan was the one I ended up as mate. He clearly said he liked me, so I wonder how it feels to like someone who likes
me,
too.
“Well, our pack will held another contest and I know you already settling down with your mate but if you’re interested, I can sign you up. You’re not yet pregnant by now, are you?”
“Dylan!” I blushed from what he said.

Yeah, right! Like I will be.
“Hey, I’m just kidding. Man, if you’re here, I imagine that you’re punching my face.” his laugh slowly faded and he sighed seriously. “But that’s what I like about you, hmm?” he
I bit my lip from his confessions. Damn, this guy sounds like playing with me at first so how come he still have to say this now?
“Have you found your mate?” he asked when I kept silent.
“Y-Yeah…” I cleared my throat when I thought of Jacob. The last time I’m talking with Dylan, I was full of enthusiasm but I can’t reciprocate that feeling right now.
“I guess my prayers are not effective these days.” he chuckled. “Too bad. I thought you can fool around with me for another year.” I can hear him grinning as he said those words.
“Dylan! I’m not like that.”
Most of the she-wolves are not mindful of their virginity and plays around because they know once they found their mate, their eyes are for that person only. Hmm, like enjoying life before being tied down with the bond.
But I’m not like them. I wanted to preserve myself for my fated one. My fated one who don’t want to do anything about
“I’m not talking about what you are thinking right now, Luce. Spending time with you is enough, believe it or not.”
