Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 119

Chapter 119

A chill curled deep in my stomach, tightening like a cold knot, yet my hand moved forward without hesitation, reaching out for the vial. “I’m willing to take the risk. I’ve waited far too long for this moment to back down now.”

Jennifer didn’t immediately hand it over. Instead, she held my gaze with that sharp, unwavering look of hers. “Remember, the mission is about gathering intelligence and identifying leadership. Your personal feelings must not interfere with your judgment.”

I wanted to argue, to insist I could keep my emotions separate from the task at hand. But we both knew that wasn’t entirely true—not when it involved Rocco, not with everything that had happened to my father, my wolf, my very life.

“I understand,” I replied, my voice steadier than I felt inside.

Just then, the office door swung open, and three figures stepped in. Andy’s familiar face brought a flicker of comfort, accompanied by two others—a tall, athletic woman with short auburn hair, and a lean man wearing wire-rimmed glasses, his fingers constantly twitching as if they never stopped moving.

Jennifer nodded toward the woman. “Rebecca, our senior infiltration specialist.”

Rebecca approached and handed me a small device resembling an ornate bracelet. “This will monitor how the compound affects your system and keep communications open. It’s designed to look like typical werewolf jewelry.”

Jennifer continued, “Mason handles technical support,” as the man with glasses gave me a brief nod.

Andy chimed in, holding up what looked like a simple silver necklace with a moon pendant. “We’ve developed weapons systems disguised as werewolf accessories. These will slip through security without raising alarms.”

The team gathered around a holographic display of Blackcrest Manor. We began mapping out entry points and escape routes. Rebecca pointed out each entrance, carefully analyzing risks and security patterns based on the latest intelligence reports.

“You’ll pose as a representative from a distant pack,” Mason explained, adjusting his glasses. “Emma Thornwald from the Northern Peaks. It’s far enough away that verifying your identity would be difficult.”

I murmured to myself, committing the name to memory. “From a territory remote enough not to draw immediate suspicion.”
