Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 145

Ethan’s eyes darted away from mine, hix shoulders clumping in defeat under the effects of the truth serum. I tightened my grip on the ve a pessi At post enough against his throat to remind him of the consequences of silence

Mohan Nomex All of them, I demanded.

“Melissa,” he whispered, toke cracking. From Northern Pack. She was visiting for the summer festival three years ago.”

My solche, but I kept my expression neutral. Continue.”

Sarah from Fastern Highlands, he murmuret, eyes fixed on the floor. “Tanya from the coastal territories.”

Bach name felt like a stone dropping into my chest. Women–wolves–who had trusted him, who had no idea what kind of monster lurked And his charming smile. The same smile he’d likely given me when I approached him at the bar earlier tonight.

Rachel, be continued, voice growing smaller with each confession. “Jennifer. Kate from Silver Valley,”

“They trusted you, I said, my voice tight with controlled fury. And you betrayed that trust to satisfy your sick desires.”

His eyes flickered with shame, but it was too late for that. Far too late.

Amber, he whispered. Lisa. And… he hesitated.

Say every name, I insisted, pressing the blade just hard enough to draw a thin line of blood. “One name missing is disrespecting another

victim.

He shuddered. Elena. She was just visiting her cousin. I didn’t-

“You didn’t what? Think they’d remember? Think they’d speak up?” My hand trembled slightly with anger, but 1 steadied it. “Or did you just not care?

Ethan’s eyes welled with tears that I knew were more for himself than his victims. The serum might force truth, but it couldn’t

manufacture remorse.

I took a deep breath. The list of names was important, but I had a larger mission to complete. Time to piver.

“Now tell me about Project Phoenix,‘ I said, my voice dropping to a cold, even tone. ‘What is Red Mask planning to do at Moonstone Cave? What’s this ultimate vessel I heard mentioned?”

Ethan’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. How do you know about those code names?“

“I know more than you think,” I replied, keeping my expression steady. Your job is to fill in the blanks for me.”

He swallowed hard, the silver cuffs burning against his wrists as he shifted uncomfortably. “Project Phoenix is—”

purpose.

Ethan’s Adam’s apple bobbed nervously against my blade as he struggled to keep his voice steady. “I’m good. Just give me some more private time.”

A moment of silence followed, and I held my breath, listening intently. The footsteps seemed to move away slightly, and I allowed myself to relax marginally.

Then Ethan sucked in a deep breath and screamed, “Help! She’s going to kill me! She’s a spy!”

“You’ll regret that decision,” I hissed, quickly adjusting my position as the door was kicked open with tremendous force.

Two massive men burst into the room–both clearly werewolves based on their scent and the way they moved. The first, a tall blond with shoulders like a linebacker, immediately assessed the situation. The second, dark–haired and even bulkier, flanked him, both positioning themselves between me and the only exit.

“This bitch is trying to kill me!” Ethan shouted from his chair, struggling against his restraints. “She’s not what she seems!”

I straightened up, keeping my silver knife visible. The room suddenly felt much smaller with two werewolf guards blocking the door. I evaluated my options quickly–window behind me, two opponents in front, restrained prisoner to my left.

“Your boss’s crimes are worse than you realize,” I told the guards calmly, taking a step back to give myself room to maneuver. “He’s been drugging and assaulting women throughout the territory.”

The dark–haired guard sneered. “Don’t care what the boss does in his free time.” His fingers were already extending, nails lengthening into claws–beginning the partial shift that would make him deadlier without losing human dexterity.
