Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 187

Kira’s POV

“What did you just say?” I murmured, my voice barely rising above a whisper, trembling slightly with disbelief.

Slowly, I pivoted to face Rocco, my eyes searching his expression for any hint of falsehood or trickery. Behind me, I could feel Andy and the rest of the team standing alert at the edge of the property, their cautious gazes fixed on the tense scene unfolding before them, ready to step in if the situation escalated.

“I found a leading neurological healer who might be able to help your father,” Rocco repeated, his piercing blue eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made my heart skip. “Ian Morrison.”

My breath hitched, caught in my throat. “Ian Morrison?” I whispered, disbelief mingling with a fragile hope. For three long years, I had searched relentlessly for him—the foremost werewolf neurological healer in the entire country, maybe the world. The only man rumored to have successfully treated cases like my father’s.

A flicker of hope stirred dangerously within me, but I quickly pushed it down, afraid of disappointment.

“I’ve been hunting for Ian Morrison for three years,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite the storm of emotions inside. “He vanished without a trace. And now, just as I’m about to give up, you say you’ve found him?”

Rocco stepped forward cautiously, closing the distance between us by a careful pace. “He joined the Triads years ago. But when he realized what they were truly involved in, I helped him escape. He owes me a favor.”

I narrowed my eyes suspiciously. “And you’re only telling me this now? After everything that’s happened? Why didn’t you mention this yesterday?”

“Dominic reminded me about your father’s condition this morning,” Rocco explained, his voice low. “With everything going on with Lyra, it slipped my mind.”

I almost laughed at the absurdity of it all. Three years of desperate searching, watching my father fade away in that hospital bed, and Rocco had simply “forgotten” he knew how to reach the one person who might save him?

“What do you want in return?” I asked, my tone icy.

“Nothing,” Rocco replied firmly. “I just want to help.”

Before I could respond, I felt Andy’s steady presence beside me. His hand rested protectively on my shoulder, his body slightly angled to shield me from Rocco, his eyes never leaving the man standing before us.

“What’s going on?” Andy asked quietly.

“He says he knows Ian Morrison,” I whispered back. “The neurological healer I told you about—the one who might be able to save my father.”
