Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 194

Once we stepped into the hallway, I spun around abruptly to confront Ian, who had quietly followed us out. “What the hell was that just now?” I whispered sharply, careful to keep my voice low. “Honeymoon? Does he really think we’re—” I couldn’t bring myself to finish the thought.

Ian’s face was serious, his brow furrowed in concern. “As I suspected, his memory has clearly been compromised. From the way he mentioned your honeymoon, it seems his mental timeline has frozen at around five years ago, shortly after your formal bonding with Rocco.”

“Five years?” I murmured, pressing my palm against the cold wall to steady myself. “But that’s… that’s before everything. Before the betrayal, before—” I stopped abruptly, glancing over at Andy, who had quietly edged closer, his expression clouded with worry.

“What’s happening?” Andy asked, eyes flicking anxiously between Ian and me.

Ian sighed heavily. “Alpha Silverstone’s memory is fragmented. In his current state, he still believes that Kira and Rocco are mated partners.”

“This is insane,” I breathed, feeling a cold knot tighten in my stomach. “We have to tell him the truth.”

Ian shook his head firmly. “At this point, any sudden psychological shock could cause a severe regression.”

“So what exactly are you suggesting?” Andy’s voice grew tense. “That she just pretends to still be with him?” He jerked his head toward Rocco, who stood silently, his expression unreadable.

“Temporarily, yes,” Ian confirmed. “Only until his condition stabilizes enough to handle emotional stress.”

“No way,” Andy stepped closer to me protectively. “This reeks of manipulation. There has to be another way.”

“I assure you,” Ian said with quiet authority, “this recommendation is strictly medical. A significant emotional shock now could undo all the progress we’ve made.”

I pressed my fingers against my temples, trying to absorb the weight of this nightmare. “How long will this last?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

“A few days, maybe up to a week,” Ian replied. “We’ll need to gradually introduce reality, piece by piece.”

“That sounds convenient for you,” Andy snapped, glaring at Rocco. “Another chance to control her.”

Finally, Rocco spoke, his tone low and measured. “I will respect whatever choice Kira makes. If she decides to tell her father the truth immediately, I won’t oppose her.”

I closed my eyes, feeling trapped between impossible choices. The idea of pretending to still be with Rocco made my stomach churn. But risking Dad’s fragile recovery after all these years of waiting for this moment? That was unthinkable.

“I’ll do it,” I said at last, opening my eyes with resolve. “For Dad. But I have conditions.” I turned to Ian. “We need a clear timeline for when and how we transition to the truth. And strict guidelines about what we tell him, and when.”
