Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 243

Chapter 243

With a grunt of effort and the screech of protesting metal, he forced the doors open just enough for us to squeeze through. “Go!” he

shouted.

I slipped through the gap, feeling the sharp edge of the door scrape against my jacket. Once on the other side, I helped Rocco pull himself through.

“There will be more security measures, I warned as we sprinted down the corridor. “She wouldn’t make it this easy.”

As if on cue, metal shutters began descending from the ceiling, threatening to cut off our escape route.

“Run!” Rocco grabbed my arm, pulling me forward. We slid under the first shutter just before it slammed into the floor. The second was already halfway down. Rocco pushed me ahead of him, and I rolled under it, turning back immediately to see if he made it.

For a heart–stopping moment, I thought he was trapped, but then he dove through the narrowing gap, barely making it as the shutter crashed down behind him.

We continued running, encountering more obstacles–locked doors, another gas–filled corridor we had to hold our breath through, and a final security checkpoint that Rocco destroyed with brute force.

Finally, we burst through the exit doors into the fresh air. I gulped it gratefully, removing my mask now that we were outside.

“The car,” Rocco pointed, and we ran toward his SUV.

As we drove away at breakneck speed, I tried the communications again. “Rebecca! Rebecca, come in!”

After several tense moments, her voice crackled through. “Kira? I’ve been trying to reach you! All communications just came back online.”

“Listen carefully,” I instructed, “Ethan is at the warehouse. Andy’s team may have been diverted. Send all available personnel there immediately. And warn them about the memory gas–they’ll need respirators or gas masks.”

“Understood,” Rebecca responded. “Satellite shows multiple heat signatures at the warehouse. Our closest team is still fifteen minutes

out.”

I ended the call and turned to Rocco, who was driving with single–minded focus, the speedometer climbing dangerously high as we weaved through traffic.

“About what Lyra said- he began after a moment of silence.

I cut him off. “Not now, Rocco. I don’t want to hear any explanations. We need to save Andy and stop Ethan and Lyra. That’s all that matters right now.”

Rocco parked at a distance, and we approached cautiously on foot. Through binoculars, I scanned the entrance to the warehouse. Armed men in tactical gear guarded the doorsnot regular security, but trained mercenaries.

His eyes met mine, sincere for the first time today. “Because if someone has to get hurt, it should be me, not you.”

Before I could respond, the sound of vehicles approaching drew our attention. A convoy of black SUVs arrived silently, their headlights off. I raised my weapon, ready for more threats, but lowered it when I recognized the figure emerging from the lead vehicle.

“Vanessa?” I said in disbelief.

My mother approached, flanked by what appeared to be a team of elite werewolves. “I thought you might need help,” she said simply.

As we quickly formulated a plan for a coordinated assault, a massive explosion rocked the warehouse. Part of the wall collapsed in a shower of concrete and metal.

Through the smoke and debris, a familiar figure stumbled out–Andy, his clothes torn, blood streaming down his face.

My heart leaped to my throat as I ran toward him, even as more explosions and Ethan’s chilling laughter echoed from inside the burning building.
