Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 245

Chapter 245

“Ready?‘ Rocco asked as we approached the side entrance, masks secured over our faces.

I nodded, adrenaline sharpening my senses. “Let’s go.”

The moment we stepped inside, the chaos was overwhelming. Emergency lights flashed, bathing everything in an eerie red glow. Alarms blared throughout the facility, adding to the disorientation. The air was thick with smoke and the acrid smell of chemicals.

We moved cautiously, stepping over broken equipment and avoiding werewolves locked in combat some were Jennifer’s team, others were Ethan’s security forces. Most disturbing were those fighting their own allies, clearly affected by the memory compound.

“Stay close, Rocco whispered, though it was unnecessary. I had no intention of separating in this nightmare.

As we approached the central area, we found ourselves overlooking a massive laboratory setup from a metal catwalk. Below us, Ethan’s people worked frantically around a large device connected to multiple containers of clear liquid. In the center stood what looked like an aerosol dispersal system – large enough to cover a significant area.

“That’s it, I whispered into my communicator. “Rebecca, are you seeing this?”

“Getting the feed now, her voice crackled in my ear. “Based on the configuration… this isn’t designed for a building. This is city–scale dispersal.”

My blood ran cold. “They’re planning to release the memory compound over the entire city.”

All werewolves would be affected,” Rocco murmured beside me. “They’d forget who they are, what they stand for…”

“Perfect targets for reprogramming,” I finished his thought.

Before we could formulate a plan, the lights in the laboratory suddenly brightened, and all activity below ceased. A slow clapping sound echoed through the space.

“Welcome, welcome!” Ethan’s voice boomed through speakers. He stepped onto a raised platform at the center of the lab, looking completely unruffled despite the chaos around us. “I’ve been expecting you both.”

Beside him stood several blank–faced werewolves, including Jennifer. Her eyes were vacant, her posture unnaturally stiff.

“What have you done to them?‘ I hissed.

Ethan smiled. “Simply shown them a better way. No more conflict, no more divided loyalties. Pure, perfect obedience.”

You’re insane, Rocco growled.

I’m visionary, Ethan corrected. “Your sister understood that, Blackwood. She was brilliant, you know. Her research made all this possible.”
