She uses us like a search engine on men around Mooncrest, not only that, but she keeps going back to how excited she is to see Aeliana, and then speaks to us like we are old friends.

I’ve never been more thankful to be home than I am when we arrive, “Oh my. My.” She peeks out the window.” This is your house? I like it, why so huge?” She frowns. “I hope you didn’t domesticate my Ellie to a housewife because this is slavery, torturous, and an infringement of ten laws I can’t think about. How does she take care of this house? It’s almost as big as RU.”

I smirk, she’s worried. Her words are questionable, but she seems to have her heart in the right place. “It’s a packhouse, it’s not just Aeliana and me in the house.”

“So you have your own floor?” She asks, still sitting even though we’re all getting off. “Sidekick, be a gentleman and open my door, please?”

Rowan side-eyes me, a look that screams she’s my problem, I brought her here, he doesn’t have to be nice to engage with her. He opens the door for her and she steps out, stretching and yawning. “So, where is my Ellie?”

“She’s inside,” I tell her. “And she doesn’t know you’re here, so-”

“Thank you, confused frown.” She says, “Back to us picking you up, I was wondering if you were open to surprising my wife with your presence?” She says, repeating what I had said earlier, word for word. “I remember, her not knowing makes it even better.” She winks. “I’m the best thing you can surprise your wife with,” she says, eyes shifting to Rowan. “Same goes for you, Sidekick.”

“Fucking hell,” Rowan winces. “Can you get Aeliana?” He asks, his gaze panicked. “Before Danielle overhears and slits my throat?”

“This way, Miss Fren,” I say, leading the way.

“Who’s Daniel? Your lover?” She asks, gasping dramatically. “My oh my, you guys are so innovative, a gay Beta.” She giggles, confirming she’s known who he was from the beginning. “Yep, jealous to see your replacement?”

“Oh no, I’m fine with being replaced,” he says, his gaze momentarily shifting to the now quiet girl between us. You however didn’t take it well, you cried for days when you saw pictures of her with another man, did you not?”

“Cried is a strong word,” I argue. But I did in fact cry, but he doesn’t know how long for, I’m a strong man, as far as any man knows. “How does one possibly cry for so long?”

“You should know,” he scoffs.

“I did not cry.”

“That’s not what happened,” I argue.

“Oh no, Zachary told me all about it.”

“Zachary is a lying piece of shit who will catch a punch the next time I see him,” I tell him, entering the house first. “Miss Fren, I’ll get Aeliana.”
