Chapter 125
AUDREY
I know my shitty morning is about to take a turn for the better when I see Kingston walk through the door with a gift bag. He’s been gone all morning, we barely got a chance to talk, and now here he is, carrying a gift bag.
“You’re back,” I squeal cheerfully. “What’s that? Is that for me?”
My excitement dies out the moment he opens his mouth. “No, it’s for Aeliana.”
“Oh,” I try not to seem surprised, but the flatness in my tone gives me away. Why is he out buying gifts for her? And looking excited about it? Something doesn’t seem right about this. He is supposed to be upset with her. She’s been a pain in the ass over the last couple of days, and here he is, buying her gifts?
“Have you seen her?” He asks, already moving, eyes wandering around the room. “Lexie!” He calls, hardly giving me any time to answer.
Lexie, the punny maid who is always kissing Aeliana’s ass comes running. “Yes, Alpha.”
“Is Luna Aeliana home?”
“Yes, Alpha.” She nods, “She’s somewhere around here with Miss Noah. Should I look for her?”
Kingston shakes his head, “Thank you, I’ll find her myself.” He tells her, and she leaves just as quickly as she
came.
“Doesn’t Noah have a job?” I scoff. Dealing with Aeliana is enough, the bossy brat she happens to be now come with gets on my nerves, and we have only met twice.
“She does,” Kingston nods, moving again, I follow closely behind him as he checks the cinema, she isn’t there.
“She hangs out a lot for someone with that much a commitment,” I tell him. “I hope VU isn’t suffering.”
“VU is fine,” he tells me, checking for Aeliana in another room. “The girl lives by her own tune, they’ll get used to it.”
“It’s a business,” I tell him. Not only is he overlooking Aeliana’s stupidity but now Noah’s? “It’s an education facility, if she can’t work, then she shouldn’t be there, someone deserving of that position should. And besides, she can survive off her other riches.”
“I observed her class this morning,” he tells him, walking hastily towards the backyard. “She was there, and she was amazing, her class loved her, the board loved her. She truly is gifted, I almost didn’t recognise her when she started her lecture.”
“Hmm,” I hum. “So, what did you get Aeliana?”
“It’s a surprise,” he simply says.
“You haven’t surprised me in a while.” I pout, my voice low and strangled.
He pauses, staring at me for a brief second before he starts to walk again. “You should take my card and surprise me with the bill.”
“Deal,” I giggle, following behind him still. I’m curious to see what he got her, if it’s any better than what he gets me, or half as expensive.
We find her in the backyard, sitting on the grass with Noah while her painting equipment is laid out in a different

spot, a bit further from them. Noah is laughing, and Aeliana is talking to her in hushed whispers. I don’t understand how in the world these two clicked, they’re so different. Noah is smoking while Aeliana eats strawberries out of a bowl
“Oh wow,” I hiss, watching Noah breathe in and exhale smoke like a fucking dragon. She’s definitely so cool, I haven’t seen anyone do that before.
“Aeliana,” Kingston clears his throat.
“Told you,” Noah laughs as they both turn.
Noah’s smile lingers, eyeing Kingston up and down. “Alpha Kingston, lovely seeing you again today.”
My gaze shifts to him, and he looks at Aeliana, panicked. “Th-the board needed me at VU.” He stutters.
Aeliana looks at me, then him, and then nods. I smile at her, waving. I heard her making a fool of herself last night, and I heard him asking Rowan for advice on how to get her on board. “I have a guest.” She tells him.
“Baby please,” Noah giggles. “I lost my guest privileges the second Sidekick said you’re back to me earlier,” she explains. “He can say anything. We do tell each other everything. So, what’s in the cute bag?”
“Err, it’s a gift.” He says, scared almost.
“He got you something,” I say with a smile, knowing it will kill her to know that I knew before her.
She frowns, staring at the bag. “Why did you buy me a gift?”
Kingston takes a few steps forward and hands her the bag, she takes it with hesitation, like she doesn’t trust that there wouldn’t be exploding wolfsbane in it.
Aeliana reaches into it, pulling out a pallet of paints. The kind she used to have as a child, I know because she had gotten them as a birthday present. “I know, because I saw these at the mall, and I thought you’d like them, you paint,” Kingston says, pointing at her setup.
She nods, staring down at the paint. “Thank you,” she says, not appearing in the least bit grateful. “They’re nice.”
“Kingy, now can I get the card?” I ask, “Aeliana got her gift, I want mine.”
He doesn’t even look at me, “It’s in my car.
Aeliana rolls her eyes, “My Noah..” she trails off.
“What?” Noah frowns, “Oh,” she nods, passing her the blunt.
She smiles, “Thanks my honey.” She says, looking more grateful for the blunt than she was for the paints. Still, she carries them and nods towards her other stuff, “I’ll finish setting up.”
“Did she not like them?” I frown. “That’s a bit ungrateful of her, she barely smiled.”
“They’re beginner’s paints,” Noah sneers. “As in I am just learning how to paint, not I can paint with my eyes
closed.”
“Oh,” Kingston nods. “I don’t know much about painting, and didn’t you say she doesn’t smoke?”
“She doesn’t smoke,” Noah repeats. “I told you before. She rolls pretty well but her picking it up to smoke is a first, and likely your fault.”
“How?”
