I cross over to the dance floor, and people part for me without me having to ask. Aeliana seems to sense my presence when I’m four strides away, she pauses, her eyes meeting mine.

“Hey,” I swallow, holding her steady.

Noah gasps, appearing just as wasted as Aeliana, but at least she can stand on her own. “My Ellie, look who is here!”

“Kingston,” she giggles, laying her head on my chest. “It’s Kingston.”

I breathe her in, stroking her head. Noah smiles, “Do you want a drink? I can buy you one.”

“Let’s buy him two!” Aeliana says, clinging to me still. “Tiger!”

“No, no. No drinks,” I whisper against her hair. “I’m driving.”

She pulls away, her hand lingering around my waist. “Where are you going?” She asks, eyes glimmering.

“Home,” I tell her. “We are all going home, come on, take Noah’s hand.”

“No,” she pouts. “My Noah said we can stay until the sun rises. I’m not drunk yet, are you drunk my Noah?”

Noah nods, “A little.”

Aeliana frowns, “I’m just tipsy bitsy, like the itsy bitsy spider went up the water….”

“Let’s continue the concert in the car,” I offer, but the moment the words leave my mouth, she steps away, barely standing straight.

“I don’t want to go,” she says, arms crossed over her chest. “I’m having fun here.”

“You can have fun at home.”

“There’s no fun at home, just…” she trails off, stepping closer to me again. “I don’t want to go.” She says, her voice pleading.

Fuck.

I cuss under my breath, how can I not give in to her demands when she stares at me like that? When there’s so much hope in her eyes, hope that dies out the second she’s back home. “You have to,” I tell her. “Please don’t make this difficult.”

I expect full-on defiance-a scene, but she doesn’t argue, she simply snuggles into my side again. “Fine.” She grumbles, both arms wrapped around me.

“Noah,” I say, extending my hand towards her. She hesitates for a moment but takes it. I lead them both outside, but not before Noah snags one final drink off a waiter’s tray, and drops the glass the second we slip past the door.

Aeliana stops walking, “I forgot Damien!” She gasps.

“Damien can find his way home,” I tell her. “Come on.”

She doesn’t move, her hand slips from me. “You’re not a very good brother to him,” she scolds, walking away.
