Ever since the inauguration, the packhouse has been torn. Well, the servants really, some have been sad since realising that Miss Audrey can’t be Luna anytime soon. I think it’s ever, and she never did have a chance, Alpha Kingston only has eyes for Luna Aeliana and no one else.

If you ask me, there were no doubts but if any? Then those got cleared when Luna Aeliana got hit. He has been doting on her all day and night, making sure she heals quicker, and it’s working. I’m convinced it’s love working stronger than the doctor’s treatment.

Miss Audrey pins me with her stare from on top of the marble counter where she is watching Tina remove the seeds from her one hundred grapes. “Hmm, is that so?”

“Yes,” I instantly nod. “When I got the job offer. I was convinced I would hate it, but I love it. Luna Aeliana is easy to work with. She isn’t very demanding, she is very kind, she always says thank you, and she reminds me to rest too. I’m honoured to work for her.”

“Oh please,” she scoffs. “It’s an act, you cook for her, of course, she is nice to you so that you don’t poison her for being a total bitch.”

“She thinks it’s friendship,” Tina laughs. “How pathetic.”

I pause, drying my hands on my apron. “That’s disrespectful Miss Audrey. Luna Aeilana is nice, and I’m learning a lot from her.”

I gasp, genuinely mortified by her words, but no one else seems to bat an eye. Miss Audrey is often very sweet around the staff, and by staff, I mean anyone who is not me, because I work for the woman who married her boyfriend. “You can’t speak that way about her, she is our Luna.” I remind her.

I know the situation between them, people talk a lot about it in the kitchen, and she cries to anyone who will indulge her, but this is too far. Luna Aeliana has seniority over everyone in this house, she is her Luna above all and must be respected.
