Chapter 201
“Get down,” I order him. He doesn’t react, if anything, he sways a little, the slight movement making my heart leap out of my chest and into my mouth. I can not lose him. “Kingston, get down, now.”
“See, she’s still mad.” He says, in what I’m guessing is an attempt at whispering because he taps Rowan’s shoulder.
I shake my head, “I forgive you, so stop screaming and get down right now.”
“Come on, she’s forgiven you.” Rowan says, trying to help him jump off but Kingston gasps, “What?”
“I am married Rowan, don’t do that,” he says, sounding offended that Rowan tried to help him. “Don’t touch me like that, my wife will not like that.”
My heart is racing, one wrong move and he’s going to fall to his death right in front of me. I’ve got enough horrors to keep me up at night, I don’t need one more. Much less another in which I lose him, this time, possibly forever. Kingston.”
“I’m married too, genius.” Rowan scoffs, one hand firmly wrapped around Kingston’s leg.
Kingston groans, jumping off the railing, and he almost crashes to the ground, but Rowan helps him, causing both of them to stagger backwards. “Then go touch your wife.” He says, shoving Rowan away.
“Ungrateful prick, how the hell will you get down the bridge? You’re staggering?”
“I’ll walk, I’ll walk, but don’t touch me,” he slurs, trying to steady himself, but his feet seem to have forgotten how they work. “I’m a happily mated man.’
I can’t do this, not for another second. He will plummet face-first to the ground, and what a shame that would be because he has a very beautiful face. I try to help him, but the moment my hand touches him, he screams. “No! Boundaries, lady.”
“Kingston,” I almost laugh. I’m half impressed he remembers our chat about boundaries with other women, yet irritated because this is not the time to mess around, people are watching.
“I’m a happily mated man,” he says, keeping to himself. “I have a wife, I’m already in trouble, so don’t touch me.”
I sigh, he really is drunk. I haven’t seen him drunk before but if this is how he acts? It’s good he doesn’t get drunk. “I am your wife.”
He pauses, squinting at me. “Aeliana?” His lips curve into a wide smile. “When did you get here, sweet girl?”
I grab his arm and sling it over my shoulder, “Just lean on me.” I order, regretting it a second later. His entire body weight crashes onto me, and I groan, the stench of alcohol enveloping me. He reeks of booze, as if he bathed
in it.
“You came,” he says. “My wife came!”
I start to move, using the railing to take some of the weight off as I walk down the bridge with him depending on me. “I see he’s a screaming drunk.”
Rowan is quick to defend him, “Not exactly. He doesn’t get wasted this much, but he has been drinking since you kicked him out this morning, and all afternoon too. I’ve had to chase him to six bars because every time I turn my back, he leaves.”

“Isn’t it ironic?” I say with a strangled bitter laugh. “He called me an alcoholic, but here he is, fucking wasted.
