Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 350

AELIANA

Sore is an understatement.

Every bone in my body feels bruised, I know that's not possible, but it does. The night I had was amazing, so much so that I think we should try this no sex thing again, but I doubt I’d live to tell the story a second time.

I was half asleep when he left this morning, and I can't wait for him to return, he promised me a very fun day in the comfort of his bed. I’m very much excited about making him my canvas, but before that, I need to remedy the dehydration I’ve acquired.

I Im on my way downstairs to have a drink, preferably wine—definitely wine, I decide the moment I see Seraphine appear in front of me. It seems to be a busy day today, nearly everyone is inside the house. Downstairs, nursing a cup of tea is Noah, staring up at me like I did something wrong. That something is beside her too, glued to her side like he has been lately.

“Hi, sister,” Seraphine cheers, standing in my way.

I stop at a distance, watching her. It’s been quite some time since her husband died, and her house was fixed. She should have left by now, I let her stay with her evil twin out of guilt, but somehow, she saw it as a green light to stay forever. “Sera,” I sigh. “What are you still doing here?”

“Nothing really,” she shrugs. “Just thinking of going to eat, I’m famished.”

I nod, “Your house was renovated, don’t you think it's high time you went back there?”

“But I can’t be on my own,” she frowns.

“You can,” I nod. “You are an adult, Seraphine. You can live alone, and you should. Because I don’t want you here anymore, not you, not your child, so out before you start showing.”

Seraphine sighs, watching me closely. “I know Brandon hurt you, but why are you so upset with me? Hmm, what did I do?”

What did she do?

God, I want to smack her. The list of all the reasons why I should hate her is endless, but the main reason is how she acted that night. “You dragged me to that party, and left me there.” I remind her. “Not only that, but you also lied to Dad and said you didn’t know where I was.”

“We were kids,” she scuffs. “I didn’t want to get in trouble, and we had gone to many parties before that one. How would I have known he—”

“I don’t know Sera,” I sigh, rubbing my temples. No one knew, no one noticed, but she didn’t question him about anything else. “Forget that time, what about when I stabbed him, you didn’t notice?”

“He got hurt at work.”

I nod, “Oh, so he raped women for a living?”

She gasps, “Aeliana.”

“Just get out of my sight,” I wave her away. “I feel sick right now.”

Her lips curve into a wide smile, excitement gleaming in her eyes. “I know what will make you feel better.”

When she finally hits the floor, her body rolls once more and everyone gasps, rushing to help. “Oh my God,” I gasp, my heart hammering in my chest.

Seraphine lies limp at the bottom, her arm visibly broken, and blood seeping through her white skirt. The sight makes me dizzy. I can’t breathe, my feet seem to have frozen in place.

“What did you do, you psychopath?!” Gemma screams, kneeling beside Audrey to check on Seraphine. Everyone is talking, screaming, a small crowd gathers a bit too fast, their whispers, gasps and screams moulding into one sentence I can’t hear.

What did I do?

It takes a moment for me to regain feeling in my legs, but when I do, I jog down the stairs, kneeling on the marble beside her head.

“Sera? Sera I—” I don’t know what's happening, the last minute seems to be a blur now. I didn’t want to push her, she was getting on my nerves, she always does, but I’ve never retaliated before, so why—how did...

She’s staring at me with wide eyes, screaming on the floor. I reach out to touch her with a trembling hand, but Audrey yanks my wrist away. “You fucking monster, stay away from her.” She kisses, cupping Seraphine’s face gently. “Are you okay, Miss Sera?” Tina asks.

“My baby,” she chokes, her eyes meeting mine as a tear rolls down her cheek. “It hurts.”

Tears pool in my own eyes, but I blink them away. “I’m sorry, I didn’t—”

“You pushed her.”
