Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 359

AELIANA

“You should take one,” Noah says, wiggling her eyebrows at me.

I stare down at the test in her hand and shake my head, “My birth control has not failed me once, it won’t start now.”

“You smell different,” she tells me. “Sweeter, try it.”

“Maybe you’re pregnant,” I shoot back. Kingston would have long scented it if I were pregnant, and her too, so I'm messing with her. “Your senses are the fucked ones, I smell fine.” I frown, sniffing my clothes to test, and they smell like Kingston.

She sticks her tongue out at me, “Negative.” She says with a Cheshire grin, turning her stick towards me. “My birth control is foolproof.”

“Aeliana?” Rowan walks into the room, staring between us. Noah hides the test behind her back, and he frowns, an eyebrow raised. “Am I interrupting?”

“No.” I almost laugh. “What’s up?”

“I need you to come with me,” he says. “The council requested an audience with you.”

“Okay.” I nod. “I’ll see you later, My Noah.”

She nods, “I’ll pick up more of those umm...you know.”

I nod.

She means quick pregnancy tests.

We had Lexie buy them earlier today, but she got the regular ones, and she only brought two. Noah insists on taking three, and even I have made it a habit.

The moment Rowan turns, she tosses the test in the trash and winks at me. “Ellie, about the meeting..”

“They think I tried to kill Sera?”

“I don’t know about that,” he says, his voice low, and unevenly pitched. He is lying, that too terribly. “I need you to stay calm in there, no matter what happens, let Kingston handle it, okay?”

When I don’t answer, he pauses, looking back. I nod, “Okay.”

“Great,” He finally moves, leading me to the conference room. “You first.”

I suck in a breath as I enter, knowing I’m walking into war grounds. I could hear them arguing when I went down to fetch the tests from Lexie, but knowing Kingston, Maddox, and Rowan will be with me in the room makes me feel better.

Everyone rises when I enter, slightly bowing. “Luna Aeliana.” They greet in unison.

I nod, lifting my hand to wave, but I realise I shouldn’t. “Hello.”

“Sit with me,” Rowan says, taping Caleb and nodding to the seat I should be in.

Caleb moves and we sit together, my eyes find Kingston, and he smiles at me, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “We’re gathered here because of your mental state.” Gamma Venice says.

“The healers and your fancy doctors are here,” he says. I turn towards the door in time to catch Doctor Eleanor, another doctor I don’t recognise, and two other healers, one retired and on her last breath. “They’ve reviewed her records for us, and in light of this new information, we request that she—”

“Wait,” Maddox shifts. “What do you mean by new information?”

“In our past meetings, Alpha Kingston insisted that Luna Aeliana wasn’t hurting anyone, but that isn’t the case anymore.”

Oh God.

My heart jumps in my throat, “It was an accident.” I blurt out.

“Calm down,” Rowan whispers.

Doctor Eleanor walks past me and sits in the chairs in the back. “You recently pushed your pregnant sister down a flight of stairs, causing her to miscarry and leaving her with a broken arm.” Gamma Venice says, “Is that right, Luna?”

“It was an accident,” I swallow. “I didn’t push her.”

“What happened, Aeliana?” Luna Estelle asks, her voice calm, soft, and warmer than every other voice in the room.

“Seraphine and I were talking, and—”

“It didn't seem like so,” Elder Campbell interrupts.
