I see my knees push up, and he positions himself between my legs again. The realisation of what is about to happen makes terror explode in my veins. I don’t know where I get it from, but feeling returns in my body. My leg jolts with a force, and I dive my knee into his chest. He staggers enough for me to kick him in the face.

He cries out, flying into the wall at the edge of my bed. I scramble off the bed and rip the tape off my mouth. “Help!” I scream. My legs are wobbly, but I avoid him.

“Somebody…please!” I cry out, my eyes widening when I see him charging at me again.

I run left to escape him, but the room is too small, and I’m too slow on what feel like new legs. Doctor James grabs my wrist and pins me to his chest, putting a hand over my mouth. “Stop,” he groans, trying to restrain me, but I bite down on his hand, sinking my fangs into his skin.

He groans in pain, but he doesn’t let go. I bite harder, fangs tearing his skin until he finally lets go. “Crazy bitch,” he groans, shoving me hard against the floor. My head cracks against the chest drawer near the bed, and I let out a choked cry. “You’re never leaving this place.”

Tears fill my eyes, and I blink, staring up at Doctor James as he tucks himself in. I fear he’s going to put his hands on me again, but people swarm in, way too many people talking at the same time. I can’t hear anything, I can’t feel anything. My vision blurs once again, but when I blink, all I see is white.

I look up, and I find myself staring down at myself. It looks exactly like me, but I can tell that it isn’t. Her clothes are different, and the way she stares, too. “Help.” I choke out, the words soundless.

At first, she doesn’t move, she merely stares, her gaze pitiful and at the same time appalled. “No.” She shakes her head, taking my hand and helping me up. For once, my feet are steady, but the space around me is white. I can hear everyone talking in the background, their voices muffled and faces invisible still.

Panic surges through me again, and I take in my surroundings. When I look down, I’m met with myself.

I’m lying eyes wide and motionless on the floor, surrounded by my night nurse and one of the security guards on this floor. “What is—”

“My turn.” She says, pushing me.

I tumble backwards, falling, but I don’t hit the ground. It’s a long fall, dark, and endless.

Last night was rough.

I’m very agitated about a number of things, and my Beta being inactive is top five on that list. Rowan has been in this hospital bed longer than he should be. He should be at home now that it's been confirmed that he has no other injuries, but he is still here.

I came in for an X-ray and popped in to see Rowan. He has healed quickly, his face is barely swollen anymore. “Why wasn’t he discharged yet?” I frown, staring at Rowan.

“He will be.” Maddox sighs beside me.

“I’m not even allowed out of this room.” Rowan groans. “It’s suffocating in here.”
