Chapter 456
“Your little one seems a little beliind, but it’s nothing to worry about. Some babies are smaller than others.”
“Mine shouldn’t be,” Aeliana clikes out. “Why is it not growing?”
“It is, but-
“Is something wrong with our baby?” She asks, her voice dropping.
She pauses, her gaze flickers to mine for a moment, and I shake my head. “No, everything looks great.” She says, turning back
to Aeliana.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, perfectly fine.” The doctor nods. “I’ll prescribe you some vitamins to help with your appetite and-”
Aeliana starts to spiral, “It’s because I’m not eating enough.”
“Siren, relax,” I tell her, gently petting her forehead. “The baby is fine.”
“She hesitated,” she says, shifting to a sitting position. “And looked at you, I’m not stupid, Kingston.” She hisses, staring between Bridget and me. “Something is definitely up with our pup, but you don’t want me to know.”
“I don’t want you to worry much.”
“I can handle it,” she snaps, her hand slipping from mine. “I can take care of myself and our child. If you can’t trust me with just the information, then how will you trust me when the actual baby gets here? Do you plan on taking care of him yourself?”
I turn to Bridget. This isn’t exactly the place for one of our fights, much less in front of a stranger. Still, I don’t want her to feel like I didn’t hear her out again. “Can you excuse us for a moment?” I ask Bridget.
She quickly rises from her seat and exits the room, leaving me with my very angry wife. Her jaw is practically ticking with anger as she glares at me. “What?” She demands.
“You’re pregnant.”
“Clearly,” she says with an eyeroll.
“You’re also dealing with a lot, Siren, and I don’t want to add to that. Let me handle it.” I tell her that there is absolutely no need for her to keep worrying herself in this condition. “Let me take care of you both, can’t you trust me with this much?”
She shakes her head, “You do realise that this isn’t about me trusting you but about you not wanting to trust me with something so important!”
