“No, it’s okay,” Noah says with a nervous laugh. “He is right, I did get with him. But no,” she shrugs. “I spend my own money, but he tried to- still does. But he keeps buying me things, but come on, I have four brothers, and they come with bonus brothers and cousins who all like to treat me like I’m the first female in their bloodline.”

Maddox nods, “Can you blame a guy for trying? I mean, he is trying to win you back.”

She lets out a long, bitter laugh. “He fucked up,” she says. “There is nothing I hate more than being lied to, so it’d take a blackout orgasm before I even think of forgiving him for lying to me.”

Aeliana and I laugh at that, but then Danielle speaks. “That can be arranged,” she confidently says.

“Oh, you’re overly freaked out.” I gasp. She doesn’t sound like she’s speaking on behalf of Rowan, and the way Noah’s cheeks flush confirms my suspicion. “I didn’t think you rolled that way, Danielle.” 1

on my nephew.”

“Speaking of nephews, we should have someone find Alex,” Danielle says. “Dinner will be ready any

minute now.”

Someone is watching me.

I can’t prove it, but I just can’t shake the feeling that someone is staring at me. It started a few days ago, and today, it seemed to get worse. When Noah and I went outside to water the garden because she was craving the scent of oil, I felt an unfamiliar presence around us, but she insisted no one was there except me, her, and the patrol guards who were watching from afar.

After that, it was in the cinema. Noah, Evelyn and Maddox were bickering over which movie character delivered their role best when I caught a shadow from the corner of my eye, but when I blinked, it wasn’t there. Maddox had even turned on the lights and checked every curtain and roll, but nothing. I flipped through a pregnancy magazine while I was in bed, and when Noah came in, we looked at it together before we both fell asleep.

Noah is gone from the bed when I wake up thirsty and again, convinced someone is watching me.
