We make it halfway to the door when I notice he hasn’t let go of the onesie that he had picked up shortly after he walked into the store. “Are you trying to steal?” I tease. He pauses, staring at me with confusion until I point at the onesie on his shoulder. “You still have that.”

“Let’s buy it.” He says, holding it upright to show me.

It’s a pink onesie that has the words Daddy’s girl embroidered on the right side of the chest. It looks unbelievably tiny in his hands, almost like a napkin. “It’s very….”

“Pink,” my head tilts. “And we don’t know the gender yet but it screams, I’m carrying a girl.”

His smile falls, “I really like this, Aeliana. Can we get it?”

“Aeliana?” I frown. “My name is baby, Siren, am I already getting replaced?”

“We’ll come back for it.” I pull away. “After the gender scan, we’ll start buying clothes, and since you’re so confident it’s a girl, you can buy it then. And if it’s not a girl, then you can still get it because you’ll get a daughter eventually or niece, whichever one comes quicker.”

He sighs, his gaze falling.
