Chapter 515
“We’re good friends, I think,” She says, her cheeks flusted. I shake my head. “Nike hanging out with him. I don’t normally do anything other than hang out with my brother and argue with my mother, so I don’know if this is just new territory or if I like him more than I should a friend.”
I nod. “You’ll figure it out, and if you do wind up at the altar. Include me in that speech because if I hadn’t lost my shit. You’d never have met.”
“You didn’t lose your shit,” she frowns, snapping back into nurse mode. “I was in asylura for six months once, and I just did that to get away from my mother. It’s what made me love psychiatry nurses so much.”
“Inspiring,” I nod. “I’d never get into that field, I’ll stick to education.”
“I hear you’re great at that.”
I shrug, “Might be a bit rusty now after everything, but yeah, I’m okay for a professor. There’s just this high that I get from being able to impact young minds-old minds, I just love my work.” I sigh, trying not to tear up at the memories of me up in lecture halls and teachers’ lounges. “Hey, do you want to go shopping with me?”
“Shopping?”
Inod, “Yeah. Kingston is taking me to dinner tonight, and I need to buy a new dress. I ordered one yesterday, but it won’t get here until tomorrow.”
“Sure,” she nods. “I’ll just get changed, and we’ll go.” She says, rising from her seat.
“Luna Aeliana,” Lexie calls from behind me. I turn around to find her holding something from the dry cleaners. “I have something for you.”
“Aw, Lexie, you didn’t have to get me anything.”
“I did, but this isn’t from me.” She says, “This just got delivered a moment ago, it’s from Miss Noah.”
“Noah?” I gasp, jumping out of my seat. Lexie holds the bag in her hands up and smiles. “I think it is a dress, it came with some roses too.”
