I lean back, and like a good husband, I do what I’m told. She whines about me smudging her lipstick, but I didn’t. V think she just needs an excuse to touch it up. She pulls a lipstick from her chest like it’s normal, and I watch her do her thing. Soon, we arrive at the hotel, and we’re swamped with cameras and reporters from the moment I help Aeliana out of the car.

Aeliana takes the time to hug her and responds to some of the questions about the hotel. She tells them it was a surprise. They’re very keen on what other surprises she’s received. She feeds them witty responses, everyone is eating out of the palm of her hand. They barely acknowledge me, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This is exactly how things should be on her birthday, her day.

No one asks about the baby. Only our close friends, immediate family and staff know about it, and looking at her, nobody would claim there’s a baby in her belly.
