Kent ran his fingers through Alexis’ hair, worry etched across his face. “It’s been so long, and I still don’t have proof of her affair. The baby monitor is gone now. It’s only going to get harder…”

“Don’t worry,” Alexis said, sounding relaxed. “Howard already took my money. He’ll handle it. We just need to wait.”

So that was it.

A chill ran through me, followed by a wave of fear.

Howard had been part of their plan all along. He had been set up to lead me into making a mistake…

No wonder Kent had been subtly pushing me to see Howard for lactation sessions. It turned out that they had been scheming this from the start.

I felt a flicker of relief that I hadn’t made a mistake the first two times.

But I also wondered why Howard hadn’t told them about us. According to their plan, they should have known by now.

The only explanation I could think of was that Howard had kept our relationship a secret.

Anger surged through me. Whatever his reasons were, I would never tolerate being deceived

and treated like a fool.

Without wasting any time, I collected all the evidence and had a lawyer draft a divorce

agreement.

During this time, Howard sent me messages on WhatsApp, but I didn’t respond and just blocked him.

When I finally presented the divorce agreement to Kent, panic hit him. He fell to his knees, begging, “Darling, I was wrong. I’ve made a mistake! It was Alexis; she seduced me. I won’t see her again, I swear! For Olive’s sake, please forgive me just this once…”

I stayed silent, but then Alexis suddenly burst out from behind the door and slapped him

across the face.

“You’re the one who said that you had no feelings for her!” she yelled. “You wanted me to help you gather proof of an affair! Now that it’s all exposed, you’re trying to pin everything on

me?”

Alexis was fierce, and she didn’t hold back. She spat on his face as she raged.

Kent wasn’t any better. He shot to his feet to argue with her. “You were the one who seduced me! If it weren’t for you, none of this would’ve happened!”

She scoffed. “If you can’t control your lower half, that’s on you. Don’t blame me for it.”

With that, she turned on her heel and walked away.

Kent collapsed to the floor, furious and miserable. But he was too much of a coward to say anything else.

I watched them tear each other apart without saying a word.

Kent could never undo what he’d done wrong.

He refused to divorce me, so I went straight to court with all the evidence in hand. With undeniable proof of his affair, I was granted full custody of Olive and received two-thirds of the marital assets.

This place had brought me nothing but pain. Once the case was settled, I planned to make a fresh start with Olive and Mom in a new city.

At the airport, just before leaving, I spotted an unexpected figure.
