Chapter 100 The Giant Cat

Cecelia no longer showed obvious hostility toward Ryan like she had before. She had even stepped in to
save him.
Aside from that, she had also taken the initiative to give the level 3 crystal to Ryan so he could upgrade
From those two things alone, it was clear she had been calm and rational.
Ryan, on the other hand, had always been somewhat childish by nature, impulsive and quick to anger.
“I get it! Timothy, for the sake of the team, I’ll try not to hate her!”
Ryan pouted as he spoke reluctantly.
Timothy glanced at him. “Not try. You have to change your attitude toward Cecelia.”
“Timothy?”
Ryan looked very confused. “What if we’re just naturally incompatible?”
Timothy’s eyes darkened slightly. He said in a low voice, “Before Hendrick got injured today, I saw Cecelia take Amber out. She said she was teaching Amber how to kill zombies. When they came back, they also brought that so–called cousin Jerome.
You think something about that is strange?”
Ryan frowned. “Didn’t she just run into a cousin and brought him back? I’d say she just got lucky.”
“You…”
Timothy rubbed his tired temples. Suddenly he felt that talking to Ryan was exhausting.
This guy’s brain was completely one–track. He simply couldn’t think around corners.
Timothy already had a rough guess.
Cecelia would never casually teach someone or bring a stranger back to the team.
Maybe she was already thinking about leaving the group.
If that were the case, they would actually end up in a very passive position.
To put it simply, for his own sake and for the team, he now had to keep Cecelia around just like he had previously tried to keep Ivy.
“Sigh. Timothy, can you stop talking halfway and leaving things hanging… holy crap!”
Ryan had been waiting for Timothy to finish when he suddenly saw something shocking on the rooftop of the building across the street. Dozens of mutated rats were jumping onto the roof of a two–story building and running toward a single direction.
They were standing on the fourth floor, which gave them a perfect view of the scene below.

In the alley across from them, the number of rats was enormous and still increasing.
They formed a dense swarm.
Like wild dogs that had smelled fresh blood, they ran forward in excitement and frenzy.
Their squeaking echoed sharply through the dark night, sending chills down the spine.
Timothy’s expression changed. He grabbed Ryan immediately. “Downstairs!”
As he closed the door, he didn’t forget to throw the burning piece of clothing outside.

On the first floor, Ivy and the others watched the swarm of mutated rats rushing past outside the door.
None of them looked good.
“There are way too many!”
Amber’s face turned pale. She couldn’t help asking anxiously, “Can Cecelia and Hendrick really handle this?”
Ivy pressed her lips together, worry filling her expression. She turned to Regina. “Regina, can you sense how many mutated rats there are?”
Regina shook her head. “I can’t separate the exact number. I can only feel that a huge group of mutated rats nearby is rushing toward one direction.”
“Squeak!”
Outside the pile of burning firewood in front of the metal gate, one mutated rat stopped and noticed them.
Its marble–sized crimson eyes stared at them for a moment. Then it twitched its nose strangely. As if it sensed that the prey in another direction was more tempting, it quickly turned and ran after the rest of the
swarm.
As the mutated rat swarm passed through the area, the ground itself trembled faintly.
Standing quietly in the corner, Jerome watched the scene. In the darkness, his eyes flickered slightly, gradually turning cold and emotionless.
Not far away, at the gas station, Cecelia and Hendrick had also noticed what was happening behind them.
Hendrick’s expression didn’t look very good. He forced a smile and asked her, “Am I really that good of a bait?”
Cecelia’s mouth twitched. She rolled her eyes at him. “You’re thinking too highly of yourself. This swarm of mutated rats didn’t start moving because of you.”
Hendrick narrowed his eyes and looked at her in confusion. “Other than human flesh and blood, what else could be so irresistible to them?”

“Something even more delicious.”
“For rats, what food isn’t delicious?”
Hendrick felt her answer sounded a little pointless.
Cecelia suddenly stopped walking and didn’t move forward anymore.
“What’s wrong?”
He was forced to stop as well and looked at her in confusion.
Cecelia didn’t answer. Instead, she stared straight ahead at a supermarket plaza about 30 yards away. Mutated rats were continuously pouring into that open area..
Hendrick frowned and followed her line of sight. The moment he saw it, his expression changed dramatically.
Standing in the plaza was something over 19 feet tall.
A gigantic… tiger?
No.
He looked more carefully. His breathing tightened, and his pupils shrank sharply.
That’s not right!
That wasn’t a tiger.
