Chapter 107 Go Separate Ways
No matter the reason, Cecelia was determined to keep Jerome.
Finished
Ivy could only sigh helplessly. She looked at Timothy and the others and said seriously, “I’m sorry, Timothy. Jerome is very important to Cece. And Cece is very important to me. So whatever Cece decides. is my decision too. I’ll follow her.”
Even if that decision meant leaving the team.
But once she said that, the ones whose faces darkened were Timothy and the others.
Ryan couldn’t hold back his temper. “Ivy, this isn’t a joke! This affects all our lives! What if Jerome really is bad luck? The whole team could get dragged down by him!”
‘Ivy, you should really think about this carefully.”
Regina looked at Jerome and frowned. “I don’t know why, but I feel like there’s something off about him. It’s hard to explain, like a sixth sense. When I look him in the eye, it gives me chills.”
Psychic ability sure made people more sensitive.
But wasn’t that sixth sense a bit too strong?
Cecelia couldn’t help thinking.
From what she knew of Jerome in her previous life, he really was a lunatic.
A scientific lunatic.
But that same lunatic held the future in his hands.
Even if the “bad luck” thing were true, she still wouldn’t give up on him.
Not to mention this nonsense.
If Jerome really were a walking disaster, how could he have achieved what he did in his previous life?
He would’ve died somewhere long ago.
And if he truly brought misfortune to everyone around him, the antidote to the zombie virus he created wouldn’t have been celebrated worldwide. No one would have called him the savior of the apocalypse.
Human nature was ugly. As long as someone had enough power and influence, stealing a scientific breakthrough wasn’t difficult for the higher–ups in the superbase.
But…
Cecelia looked at Timothy and the others and said calmly, “If you insist on making Jerome leave, fine. I’ll
leave with him.”
The moment she said that, Timothy’s and the others‘ expressions changed.

Chapter 107 Go Separate Ways
So she finally said it.
Finished
When Ivy heard Cecelia’s words, she sighed inwardly and added, “Timothy, Hendrick, Regina, Ryan, Matthew… I know you don’t trust Cece, and you don’t want to accept Jerome. In that case, we can only go our separate ways.”
“Ivy, you’re leaving too?”
Ryan looked annoyed and shot Cecelia a glance. “If she wants to take that walking disaster with her, fine. But why do you have to go too? Aren’t you afraid he’ll drag you down? Staying with us is the best choice. We can all protect you!”
“What a joke. You think without you guys I can’t protect my
sister?”
Cecelia scoffed. She looked at Timothy and the others and said coldly, “Since we’ve come this far, let’s just be clear about it.
‘Over the past month, sure, I caused some trouble for the team. But telling you about mutated zombie levels and that zombie crystals can upgrade abilities–those two things alone are more than enough to make up for it.
‘You don’t need to keep asking Ivy’s opinion. Right now, she listens to me. If you want Jerome out of the team, that’s fine. I can take Ivy and leave your team too. There’s no problem with that. After all, from the start, you only accepted Ivy because she happened to have a healing ability. And after these past few days, it’s clear you don’t really trust me either.
‘A forced team never works. It’ll only rot sooner or later. Instead of things getting uglier later, we might as well part ways now and go our separate ways.”
She spoke in the calmest tone possible, but her stance was firm.
Timothy and the others fell silent.
Why?
Because Cecelia wasn’t wrong.
Even in just a few days, her contributions to the team had already made up for the trouble she caused before.
If she hadn’t told them about mutated zombie levels, they might have kept wasting time fighting that level 2 zombie in Northbank.
Clearly, even with Timothy, Hendrick, Ryan, and Matthew working together, they couldn’t have taken it down.
And by that time, their abilities were nearly drained. Even if they realized they needed to retreat, keeping everyone alive would have been difficult.
Back then, when Cecelia suggested retreating first, hadn’t Hendrick nearly been bitten by that level 2
zombie?
