Chapter 214 The Price of Healing
And she hit hard.
Damn it.
When had someone this dangerous arrived in the Western District?
Richard regretted everything.

Cecilia had no intention of killing him. Those two kicks were already more than enough to make him suffer without a healing ability.
Once he started begging, she let him go and gave him one more kick in the rear. “Fix the door.”
Richard’s nose had been knocked crooked, the bridge visibly bent out of shape. His baby face was a disaster, half of it still marked with her footprint. Clutching his numb face and hissing in pain, he obediently activated his ability, pulled the metal door back up, and set it into place.
“Is that good enough, Miss?” He looked at Cecelia carefully as he asked.
Cecelia said coldly, “The lock.”
“Right, right. Right away.”
He immediately used his ability again to reinstall the lock he had torn out, then looked at Cecilia once more with caution.
“The footprint on the door.”
“Oh. Right.”
He obediently smoothed out the dented metal as well. It wasn’t completely restored to how it had been before, but it was basically repaired.
Richard sniffed at the blood still running from his nose and looked at Cecelia pitifully. “Sis, I fixed everything. Can I go now?”
“Get lost.”
“Got it.”
The baby–faced boy clutched his face and bolted down the corridor.
“Pathetic. Bullying the weak and fearing the strong.”
Standing in the doorway, Amber spat viciously in the direction Richard had run, then went into the kitchen. tore off the metal door there, melted part of it down, and reinforced the front door.
“Cece, those people…”
Ivy looked at Cecelia with concern. “Will they come back for revenge?”
“No.
Cecelia answered evenly. “That boy was all bluster and had no backbone. The second I made a move, they

In truth, the boy’s visit had most likely been a probe. A team that could move that freely in the Western District wouldn’t be stupid enough to walk up and start trouble without thinking.
“Go back inside and rest.”
Cecelia took another glance at the military SUV downstairs. After what had happened just now, no one was getting close to it anymore.
In a place like this, being strong but too low–key wasn’t a good thing. Showing some strength at the right moment was often enough to make people think twice.
She was just about to go back inside when another familiar military SUV drove into the compound.
Cecelia paused and saw Timothy getting out, helping Hendrick down as well.
Oh. They were injured.
One brow lifted slightly. As she went back inside, she said to Ivy, “Ivy, remember to collect payment later.”
“Huh?”
Ivy looked lost. But the moment she saw Timothy and Hendrick coming up the stairs, she understood exactly what Cecelia meant.
“Timothy.” Ivy quickly waved Timothy over to where she was.
Timothy’s face lit up with relief at once. He hurried Hendrick over. “Ivy, Hendrick, Ryan, and Matthew are badly hurt…”
“I know. Get them inside first.”
“Alright.”
Timothy glanced at Cecelia, who was sitting inside casually eating a lollipop, then said nothing more and
went back down for the other two.
Hendrick was laid out on the couch, still somewhat conscious. He opened his eyes and looked weakly around at the others.
Ivy pressed him back down. “Don’t move yet, Hendrick. I’m going to heal you.”
“Yes.”
Hendrick gave a low response and soon felt her ability working through the injuries inside his body.
The internal injuries were the serious ones. He had only made it back by sheer force of will.
That level 4 mutated zombie had never been something three level 3 ability users could handle.
“All done.
Ivy had to use up a third of her ability energy to heal him completely. Then she said, puzzled. “It feels like your body was already treated once.”

As the pain drained from his body, Hendrick’s energy came back with it. His voice was still hoarse as he said, “I really was almost dead this time.”
Cecelia bit through her lollipop.
Hendrick looked at her and gave a wry smile. “See? Without Ivy, we really are a mess.”
Cecelia said flatly, “Bad luck.”
The strongest zombie in that swarm, the level four, had already been killed by Morton’s group.
Normally, another zombie of that level should not have shown up again. And yet they had run into one on the way back for the truck. That could only be called bad luck.
Hendrick let out a breath. “Yeah. Bad luck.”
Of course, the bigger problem was that they were simply too weak. If even one of them had been level four, things wouldn’t have ended so badly.
After saying that, he handed Ivy a level 2 mutated zombie crystal. “Payment.”
Ivy accepted it just as Timothy helped Matthew inside.
Hendrick got to his feet. “I’ll go get Ryan.”
“Okay.” Timothy answered and lowered Matthew onto the couch.

By the time Ryan, Regina, and Hendrick came back up, vy had already healed Matthew. Ryan was the last
one.
The moment Ivy saw his injuries, she froze. Her expression turned serious. “Ryan is badly hurt. A broken rib punctured his organs. There’s also a lot of clotted blood in his head, and his skull is fractured… Even with the treatment you got him earlier, that only kept him barely alive…”
The second those words left her mouth, Timothy and the others all changed expressions.
Matthew’s eyes turned red at once, and his voice broke with emotion. “It’s because of me. Ryan only ended up like this because of me…”
