Chapter 217 Lead or Die
Draven looked unconvinced. “Is it shameful to make a living by your own skills?”
Silence fell.
Amber didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
Ivy could only laugh awkwardly.
She had never seen a man so good at twisting words.
She had even thought earlier that Draven would actually trade food for information about Sanctum.
In the end, he was still scheming…
Cecelia frowned and urged, “Keep talking.”

Draven swallowed and said, “Over in the Eastern District, there are three groups collecting supplies. I already told you about the types before. Mike’s group is one of them. They kill ability users to take their supplies. People like us, who are on our own, have really suffered because of them…”
“What does that have to do with me?”
“You guys are strong and have numbers. How about helping us kill Mike and his people?”
“You
With
planning this before we even entered the city, didn’t you?”
grabbed Draven by the hair and yanked his head back. “Do you think we’re idiots?”
Cecelia, let go. I didn’t mean it like that. Isn’t there one idiot in your team anyway?”
his head tilted back, Draven’s gaze drifted toward Oliver.
Cecelia was speechless. She glanced at Oliver, who immediately gave her a big grin. “Cecelia…”
Silence again.
Well.
At this level, it really was obvious he was an idiot.
Not even an insult.
But…
Cecelia let out a cold laugh and tightened her grip on Draven’s hair. “You’ve got some nerve. I’ll give you one chance. Take me to the Eastern District. If you try to run off alone, I’ll kill you.”
Hearing that, Draven swallowed instinctively and forced a laugh. “What are you going to the Eastern District for? It’s huge… If you want supplies, with your strength, you could just go outside Sanctum…”
“Cut the crap. One question. Are you leading or not?”
“I’ll lead, I’ll lead, okay? Just let go of my hair, I’m going bald!”

Draven wailed repeatedly.

Cecelia let go and told him, “Tomorrow morning at six. If I don’t see you, next time I’ll just bring your head
back.”
Draven fell silent.
His scalp tingled. “Cecelia’s so pretty, how can you say things that scary…”
Cecelia took out a dagger and brushed it lightly against his neck, smiling faintly. “I can say scarier things. Want to try me?”
“No, no, no!”
Draven shook his head frantically. Cold sweat slid down his face and dripped onto the dagger that gleamed with a cold light.
“Remember that and get lost.”
Cecelia put the dagger away.
Draven immediately scrambled toward the door. “Tomorrow, tomorrow!”
Bang!
He slammed the door shut behind him.
Amber couldn’t help laughing at how pathetic he looked. “Cecelia, he’s just like Richard… both of them pick on the weak and fear the strong. Draven’s even worse!”
“Yeah…”
Ivy was equally amazed. She looked at Cecelia. “But Cece, are you really going to the Eastern District alone. tomorrow? Isn’t that dangerous?”
“I’ll be fine on my own. Bringing you along would be the risky part. Tomorrow, all of you stay here and learn more about the Western District.”
As she spoke, Cecelia assigned tasks to the four of them.
“Ivy and Jerome, don’t go out. Oliver will protect you. Amber, you go out alone tomorrow and gather some basic information nearby…”
Ivy, Amber, and Oliver all nodded.
Jerome lowered his eyes, a strange glint flashing through them. Without drawing attention, he tugged down his sleeve, covering the faint black patterns spreading across the back of his hand…
Meanwhile, in Room 312, Richard returned with a swollen face.
Seeing the tall man sitting on the couch, he almost burst into tears. “Mike, look at my face. Next time, can you not send me to test them? That woman is brutal. She almost beat me to death!”
“Oh wow, you’re right. That face is completely wrecked

A thick branch grew out from Jocelyn’s fingertip. She used it to lift Richard’s badly swollen baby face. “Poor thing. Let me blow on it for you…”
“No, no, no!”
Richard covered his face and backed away. “I’d rather not trouble you, Jocelyn.”
If she actually blew on it, his face would swell even worse!
“Tch…”
Jocelyn rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair, crossing her long, straight legs. “Then tell us what you found out.”
Mike lit a cigarette, exhaled a cloud of smoke, and looked over. “Next time, let Humbert go. Go ahead.”
Humbert smiled. “It’s pretty much what I expected. At least two people in their group are higher level than
us.”
“Yeah, yeah!”
Richard nodded repeatedly, rubbing his aching face. “There were three women and two men in the room. One of the guys was skinny and pale, pretty young, kind of a pretty boy. I couldn’t sense any ability from him, probably useless. The other guy was even bigger than you, Mike. His level might be higher than yours, but he seemed kind of dumb, like something’s wrong with his head. As for the three women, the short- haired one who attacked me was the strongest. She kicked me and sent me flying. She’s probably not weaker than you, Mike. Of the other two, one looked soft and fragile, like she’d be easy to bully, probably useless. The last one is younger than me. I could tell she’s the same type as me, a metal–control ability user.”
