Ivy asked, “Do you think that day will really come?”

She listened to Cecelia’s description and couldn’t help picturing it in her mind.

When the apocalypse first began, she had once imagined that someone would come to end this terrible nightmare.

But over the past month, everything she had gone through had thrown her into deep despair.

Three in the morning.

In a bedroom, on the bed, Regina jolted awake.

“Sssraaahh!”

The sounds of zombie screeching cut through her ears.

Very close!

Regina was so scared that cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

She threw off the blanket and jumped out of bed.

She opened the door and rushed toward the third floor to find Timothy.

But first, she ran into Cecelia, who was standing by the hallway window!

Cecelia frowned slightly and explained, “I got up to use the bathroom and felt movement outside. Go wake up Timothy and the others first.”

“Okay!”

Regina didn’t have time to think about how Cecelia sensed that.

She sprinted upstairs and knocked on the door where Timothy and Hendrick were staying.

Both of them got up quickly.

“What’s going on?” Timothy asked, his face serious as he looked at Regina.

Regina was breathing hard. “Zombies! The mutated zombie we met during the day–it’s very dangerous. I can feel it nearby, close to our house!”

“What?” Hendrick’s face changed slightly.

“Did it follow us from Northbank?”

Regina shook her head. “I’m not sure. We drove far enough back then, and I couldn’t sense it anymore. But just now, while I was asleep, I clearly heard zombie screeching…”

There was no way she was wrong.

A mutated zombie was definitely near their house.

And it was getting closer and closer.

Danger was coming toward them!

Thinking about how Timothy and the others couldn’t defeat that level 2 zombie during the day made her even more panicked.

Hendrick frowned and pressed a hand on Regina’s shoulder. “Stay calm. Can you sense which direction it’s coming from?”

Regina nodded and pointed toward the hallway window. “It’s approaching from that side!”

Hendrick narrowed his eyes and glanced at Timothy. “I’ll grab a gun downstairs. No need to be careful this time–any zombies nearby have already been cleared.”

Timothy nodded. “I’ll go check downstairs.”

Then he turned to Regina. “Wake the others and have them gather in the living room downstairs. Get ready to fight.”

Regina replied and hurried to wake Matthew and Ryan.

the second–floor hallway, he saw Cecelia standing by the window, looking outside.

He only caught a glimpse of her back before continuing downstairs.

By the window, Cecelia could feel someone watching her from behind.

That prickling sensation on her spine–it had to be Hendrick coming down.

But she didn’t turn around. Her attention stayed on a specific direction outside the house.

It wasn’t far.
