Villainess Ascendant: Apocalypse Edition
Chapter 256 The Psychic Threads
“Huh?”
Cecelia paused, confused. “He’s using his ability-psychic threads. You can’t see them?”
Finisher
“Really?” Ivy looked blank. She turned to Amber and Draven. “Do you see any psychic threads on Blake?”
Both of them shook their heads at the same time. “No!”
“Huh?”
Cecelia frowned, now a little lost. She stared at the back of Blake’s head, then reached out and tapped his shoulder. “Why does it feel like I’m the only one who can see them? Is it because I have the potential to awaken psychic ability?”
Blake went quiet.
He had just remembered something.
Normally, only psychic users could see those threads. But yesterday, when Cecelia came to him for help. she saw them right away. He had completely forgotten about that.
He thought for a moment.
Maybe it had something to do with the chicken she gave him earlier-the one with that strange blue blood.
After eating more of it last night, more of that blue blood had entered his body. It helped suppress the restless power inside him, and it also strengthened his psychic core.
But that power was still connected to her.
To put it simply, there was now something of hers inside him. And she could control it.
She just didn’t know how yet.
For him, it was both a good thing and a bad thing.
Blake glanced at Cecelia and said, “Psychic threads can usually only be seen by people with the same ability. But if someone is strong enough, even without awakening psychic ability, they might still se them.”
“I see.” Cecelia nodded. Then she looked at Ivy and the others. “It’s nothing special. It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. The psychic energy turns into super thin threads, even thinner than hair, and spreads
out.”
“Whoa!” Draven’s eyes lit up. “That sounds insanely cool!”.
Ivy looked at Cecelia and asked softly. “Does releasing psychic energy like that use up a lot of power?
She didn’t dare disturb Blake.
Chapter 256 The Psychic Threads
Finished
No one knew what would happen if he got interrupted mid-use.
“Maybe. It depends on the person,” Cecelia said. “Blake is really strong.”
She had no doubt about his strength.
After all, this guy would one day build an entire psychic defense system for a superbase all by himself. His starting point was way beyond ordinary psychic users like Regina.
You couldn’t compare him to normal standards.
From what she knew in her previous life, even Harvey at level 5 couldn’t release psychic energy like this.
More importantly, Blake showed no signs of strain.
Judging by how his psychic threads moved, everything was still under control.
Ten minutes later, all the threads pulled back.
Blake spoke in a low voice. “From our current position, covering about six miles out near the Eastern District quarantine line, the number of mutated zombies isn’t that high. There are fewer than 10,000 level 1 mutated zombies, about 3,000 level 2, 1,000 level 3, and around 24 at level 4. As for normal zombies…
about one million.”
The vehicle fell silent.
Amber sucked in a breath. “That many? A million normal zombies, just within six miles of the quarantine line? Then outside that area, there must be even more.”
Draven shivered. “When the outbreak hit the Eastern District, six to seven million people turned into zombies. Compared to that, the number of mutated zombies is actually pretty low.”
“The military must have already cleared out a lot,” Cecelia said, narrowing her eyes as she looked toward the distant explosions.
With someone like Morton, it was easy to wipe out lower-level mutated zombies quickly.
And the number of level 4 zombies was higher than she expected.
Based on that ratio, there were probably at least five level 5 mutated zombies.
She turned to Blake again. “You didn’t sense any level 5 ones?”
“Not for now,” Blake said calmly. “Like you said, the military is moving fast. The number of normal zombies is dropping quickly.”
“Yeah.”
Cecelia nodded and looked ahead. Timothy’s vehicle had slowly come to a stop.
There were clearly a lot of military personnel gathered there.
