Everyone nodded in agreement.

Soon, the group headed back to the villa to rest.

Once they were inside their room, Ivy finally turned to Cecelia.

She had been holding the question in for a long time and could no longer keep it to herself. “Cece,” she asked quietly, “how did you know that zombie crystals can upgrade abilities?”

Earlier downstairs, she had forced herself not to ask.

She was worried someone might overhear them and make things difficult for Cecelia.

Cecelia blinked at her and answered casually, “Didn’t I tell you before we went to bed? I had a dream about the future apocalypse. The crystal thing showed up in that dream.”

Ivy frowned slightly. “Huh? But earlier today when we went to Northbank, you already—”

“Oh, I didn’t explain it clearly,” Cecelia interrupted, rubbing her sleepy eyes. “I had that dream the day before yesterday.”

She let out another long yawn. “Ivy, I’m going back to sleep. You should rest too. We can talk about everything after we wake up.”

Ivy sighed helplessly. “Alright. Go ahead and sleep.”

“Mhm.”

Recently, Cecelia had been sleeping extremely well.

The moment her head touched the pillow, she drifted off almost instantly.

Most of it was because she had pushed herself too hard while training in that strange blank

space.

Before she had even recovered, they were suddenly attacked by a level 2 zombie tonight.

Right now, what she needed most was sleep.

Ivy watched as Cecelia quickly fell into a deep sleep, soft snores escaping from her lips. With a quiet sigh, she pulled the blanket over her.

Her mind kept circling back to the same thought. Zombie crystals could upgrade abilities.

Mutated zombies were rare, which meant the crystals would become extremely valuable.

Her ability also needed to grow stronger.

But there was one problem she couldn’t ignore. She didn’t know how to kill zombies.

Would she have to rely on Timothy and the others to defeat them and hand the crystals to her?

The thought made her temples ache. No matter how she looked at it, she couldn’t find a solution.

Ivy wasn’t the only one losing sleep over it.

In another room, Regina was thinking about the same issue.

Everything that had happened tonight had shaken her deeply–the sudden appearance of a level 2 zombie and the growing sense of danger closing in around them.

It made her uneasy.

More than ever, she wanted to improve her psychic ability as quickly as possible, just like Hendrick had done.

If she became stronger, she could detect danger sooner and warn the team in time.

But killing mutated zombies was far easier said than done.

“Matthew!” Ryan’s voice echoed the moment they returned to their room.

“Do you think that lazy bum just got lucky again with her guess?”

Ryan had lost the bet earlier and was still refusing to accept it. He grabbed Matthew, who was on his

way to take a shower, and started complaining non–stop.

In Ryan’s mind, Cecelia had simply guessed and gotten lucky. He refused to accept she was useful.

After all, during this whole time he had never seen her show any real ability–just a few clever tricks and quick words.

He paused briefly before continuing, “So from now on, that should be our focus. We need to hunt more mutated zombies and raise our ability levels as quickly as possible.”

“That actually makes sense!”

Ryan rubbed his chin as he thought about it.

His mind drifted to his own ability.

If he could upgrade it soon, he wouldn’t look so useless like he did today. The small burst of fire he released barely lasted thirty seconds before fading out.

The biggest problem was the speed of mutated zombies.

Regular zombies moved slowly, so the fire could spread easily. But mutated ones were much faster.

“So Matthew, what do you think if we-‘

Ryan turned to continue the conversation. He turned around.

Bang!

The bathroom door slammed shut.

Matthew had already gone inside to shower.

Ryan stared at the closed door in silence.

After a moment, he turned and glanced at his empty bed.

His bedsheets had been sacrificed earlier tonight. It wrapped around the level 2 zombie downstairs.

In the room next door, Timothy stood by the window, staring quietly at the mutated zombie’s body lying outside the wall.

He seemed lost in thought.

Hendrick walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair with a towel. “Still thinking about the crystal?” he asked.
