Chapter 323 The Fire Station
“There’s a fire station!”
Finished
Draven Bellingham said at once, “According to the map, there’s a fire station here. Protective suits will be a lot more useful. If we’re in a rush, I can go grab some myself later. Getting five or six sets back won’t be a problem.”
As for everyone else, they weren’t in his consideration at all.
But Ivy York said, “It’s better if we go together. We’re a team now. If something happens to them, things won’t go well for us either.”
“Mm.”
Cecelia York looked at Blake Saila. “You’re the captain now. You decide.”
Morton Carter was still giving Cade Parker and his other four teammates a few final instructions.
And Timothy Shaw’s group was doing the same with Matthew Zeller.
Before heading out, there were indeed some things that had to be made clear first.
Blake Saila said in a low voice, “If we go through the sewers and enter Kaezer Group from inside, we’ll probably run into plenty of Level 4 or Level 5 mutated zombies first. More people gives us an advantage.
Besides, Morton Carter had put him in charge.
By Morton’s logic, if they wanted this mission to go smoothly, they had to stay united.
Cecelia York was thinking the same thing. She glanced toward Timothy Shaw and Hendrick Burton’s side. They’d worked together before and knew each other fairly well, so teaming up again shouldn’t be a problem.
As for Cade Parker’s side, he’d already said he wouldn’t interfere with Blake Saila’s command.
He’d come up under Morton Carter, so he seemed barely trustworthy.

This plan really needed strong team cohesion. The second internal conflict showed up and the groups apart,
it would be very easy for the whole plan to fail.
For now, their fifteen-person team didn’t seem to have any major problems.
At most, it was just three smaller squads put together into one bigger team.
“Alright, all of you, get over here and pick a gun.”
After finishing with Cade Parker, Morton Carter called out to Cecelia York and the others. And put on all these bulletproof vests too.”
Chapter 323 The Fire Station
The trunk of the military SUV swung open.
Inside were plenty of guns, ammo, and bulletproof vests.
Cade Parker and the others had already geared up.
Cecelia York and the rest didn’t hesitate either. Each of them, stepped forward and took a handgun.
“If your ability gets drained too badly and you can’t recover in time, use this to protect yourselves. Morton Carter asked again, “Do you all know how to shoot?”
“Captain, what’s so hard about that? I’ll teach them!”
Cade Parker moved fast. He picked up a handgun and quickly explained how to switch the safety on and off, then how to fire it.
Cecelia York and the others nodded to show they understood, and each took a box of bullets.
Besides that, everything could be strapped onto the bulletproof vest, along with spare magazines and belt pouches.
In short, anything he could equip them with, Morton Carter gave without holding back.
He even packed military compressed biscuits and energy drinks for them.
At that point, everyone in Cecelia York’s group was basically carrying a small backpack.
After all, this mission carried a real level of danger, and Morton Carter had to give them as much protection as he could.
He even asked, “You ladies don’t have any special issues right now, do you?”
Cecelia York, Ivy York, Amber Gill, and Regina Fletcher all shook their heads.
If that were really the case, they wouldn’t have come out.
The smell of blood was the easiest thing to draw zombies.
And the blood of ability users could make mutated zombies even more excited.
That was something they absolutely had to watch out for.
But…
Cecelia York rubbed her chin and thought, ever since reincarnating, she hadn’t had any problem with her monthly period.
It had been over two months, and it still hadn’t come once. She had no idea why.
Ivy York and Amber Gill, on the other hand, were perfectly normal.
That just proved that awakening an ability couldn’t get rid of a monthly period.

Finished
Theirs had ended just a week ago, and they’d even asked her for pads.
Luckily, there were some in the supplies inside her spatial ability.
They were part of the stash Tiger had coughed up before.
That tomcat… had he been planning from the start to find himself a female owner?
He’d hoarded so many supplies for raising humans!
After making sure one last time that everyone was fine and fully equipped, Morton Carter told them to
move out.
They all got back in the vehicle. Since there were so many of them, they switched to a minibus.
The sewer entrance they were heading for happened to be close to the fire station, so Draven Bellingham volunteered to drive.
Cecelia York also took the chance to explain the plan to grab the protective suits to Timothy Shaw, Hendrick Burton, Cade Parker, and the others.
Cade Parker agreed right away. “Yeah, our captain really missed that one. This is the apocalypse. The sewers are dangerous as hell. If we run into mutated bugs, all this exposed skin with short sleeves is gonna put us in real danger.”
“Exactly! And wearing fire protective suits won’t affect our ability use. They’ll just be hot and heavy, right?”
Amber Gill had never worn one before, but she’d seen firefighters after they came out of a blaze. Once they peeled those suits off, they were drenched in sweat, and even their shirts were soaked through.
But when it came to protection, they were solid.
Timothy Shaw nodded. “I agree.”
Hendrick Burton glanced at Blake Saila, folded his arms over his chest, leaned back against the scat, and said darkly, “Isn’t Mr. Saila’s psychic ability supposed to detect zombies closing in around us? Mutated bugs and rats shouldn’t escape that either, right?”
Blake Saila shot him a cool look. “Protective suits are one more layer of insurance. If you think you don’t need one, then don’t wear it. As for warning the team about mutated bugs and rats, the Level 4 psychic bility user on your side can do that too.”
quickly raised her hand, looked at Hendrick Burton, and said sweetly. “Hendrick, if you er one, just stay with me when the time comes!”
