Chapter 324 Sense of Dread
Hendrick was stunned,
Is this really about whether to wear a protective suit or not?
Hendrick’s mouth twitched hard, and he decided not to say anything else.

Timothy glanced at him, then said to Regina, “Stay close to Hendrick when the time comes. He has wind ability. If anything happens, he can get you out quickly.”
Regina gave a quiet “okay,” but she felt like Hendrick wasn’t even focused on the protective suit issue at all.
The fire station was less than a mile from the sewer entrance they were heading to.
But it was still about two and a half miles from the outer perimeter of Kaezer Group.
After the minibus stopped, Cecelia climbed to a higher spot and could see, from a distance, a massive,
densely packed swarm of zombies wandering under control.
上
Blake stood beside her, probing with psychic threads. “These zombies are being controlled and confined to the outer perimeter, like a barrier to keep the living out.
“In other words, if they detect living people approaching, these controlled zombies will attack. But right now, they won’t actively seek out the living.”
“Got it.”
“Then we should be able to get closer and enter through a nearer sewer entrance.”
“That works.”
After focusing for a moment, Blake marked another spot on the map. “About half a mile outside the perimeter here, there’s a sewer entrance that connects to the underground parking structure inside Kaezer Group.”
“Alright, let’s head there and let everyone know.”
Draven and Cade had a few quick-moving people head into the fire station to grab protective suits.
When Cecelia came downstairs, she saw they had already brought out a pile of firefighter gear and were putting it on.
“Cecelia! These are lightweight firefighting suits, perfect for going into the sewer. They’re not too bulky, and they can protect against bug bites and some corrosive fluids down there.”
Draven had already changed.
With the bulletproof vest still underneath, his upper body looked a little bulky.
But it didn’t affect his movement.

Amber asked Draven, “They won’t stop rats from biting, right? If we run into those rodent-type mutated beasts, this gear probably won’t help much…
Draven replied, “If we run into something like that, we’ll just go all out with our abilities. No point trying to block everything.”
“True. The mutated bugs are the real nightmare…”
Ivy didn’t even want to think about it. She only wished she could wrap herself in a few more layers.
Last time they encountered mutated rats, she hadn’t found them fearly as terrifying as bugs.
Before long, everyone had changed and fully equipped themselves.
After Blake informed Cade, Timothy, and the others about switching to a different sewer route, they all got back on the bus and set off again.
Maybe because all the zombies nearby had been pulled to the outer perimeter to form a defensive wall. they didn’t encounter a single zombie on this stretch of road.
That was why Draven and the others had been able to retrieve the protective suits so easily.
Cecelia kept watching their surroundings. With no zombies around and only their minibus moving along the road, the quiet made the engine noise stand out sharply, like it was being amplified.
Something felt off to her.
“Stop the car!”
Blake spoke even faster than she did, his expression serious. “A large number of zombies are approaching us from all directions.”
Cade’s eyes widened. “We’re only at this point, and we’ve already drawn their attention?”
ľ
Draven, who was driving, looked just as confused and quickly hit the brakes and stopped the vehicle.
“It’s probably a perimeter trigger.”
Blake said to everyone, “From here on out, we abandon the vehicle and proceed on foot.”
After saying that, he told Draven to open the door and stepped out first.
Cecelia and the others didn’t hesitate and followed right behind.
Hendrick glanced at Regina. “What do you feel?”
Regina’s face turned slightly pale. “Hendrick… I have a bad feeling. Blake said zombies are approaching us, but I can’t sense anything…”

Hm?
Hendrick frowned. “What do you mean?”
“I… I don’t know. I can feel all of your presence, but I just can’t sense the Zombies he’s talking about..
“Could that Blake guy be the problem?”
Ryan leaned in and said, “He doesn’t seem suspicious, and he’s part of Cecelia’s team. He wouldn’t harm his own people, would he?”
