Chapter 327 Keep It Down

Seeing that scene, Regina’s heart pounded wildly, panic rising fast. “Timothy, Hendrick, be extra careful. Do not touch those psychic threads. With that many, they could completely control us!”
Timothy and Hendrick’s expressions darkened at her warning.
They looked straight ahead, but saw nothing at all.
Like it didn’t even exist.
Only psychic ability users could see it.
If their team didn’t have one, they would’ve walked straight into this trap without realizing it.
They could’ve been controlled without even knowing.
At that thought, all of them tensed up, focusing completely as Regina kept watch and warned them.
Cade’s group didn’t have a psychic ability user, so even though they couldn’t see anything, Blake’s words forced them to stay alert.
“So how are we getting through this? How do we know that further in, there won’t be more of these threads?” Glen looked at Blake and asked.
Blake replied, “I’ve checked. From here to about 200 yards ahead, where the path turns, the psychic threads disappear.”
No matter what, even a mental defense couldn’t cover everything.
His guess was that these mutated zombies knew exactly where their boundary was and deliberately set this as a trap. If any living person entered through the sewer, they’d be detected instantly.
Of course, as long as they didn’t touch the threads, the mutated zombies wouldn’t sense them.
“Two hundred yards isn’t far. Everyone crouch down and move carefully. Watch how low the person in front of you bends. Taller people, keep your bodies as low as possible.”
Cecelia glanced at Oliver. “Sta
behind me.”
Oliver nodded. “Got it.”
“Looks like the taller ones shoul

the middle where they can be watched more closely. Good thing
we only have one guy over seven
Cade sized Oliver up, clearly impressed by his build.
He wasn’t just tall.
He was
The guy was built like two of Cade combined.
Someone like that would’ve been a perfect recruit for the military.

Chapter 327 Keep It Down
Behind Oliver were Ivy, Amber, and Draven.
Their heights weren’t an issue at all.
Draven glanced up and frowned. “Only psychic ability users can see those threads, right? So how come Cecelia can see them too?”
Amber snorted. “Isn’t it obvious? It’s because Cecelia’s just that strong!”
Ivy let out a helpless laugh. “Maybe it’s because her ability is special. Either way, it’s a good thing she can s them.”
Meanwhile, Oliver had it the worst. Cecelia made him stay bent forward the entire time.
And not just slightly. He had to lower himself until his head was level with hers.
The sight of a giant like him hunched over and squeezing forward looked both pitiful and a little ridiculous.
“Seriously… Isn’t this only 200 yards? Why does it feel so much longer? Feels like way more than that…”
Amber looked around nervously. Even though it was the same sewer, everything felt eerier, sending chills down her spine.
On top of that, those invisible threads above them made it worse.
She felt her skin crawl and wished she could just fly past this entire stretch.
Draven felt it too. The tunnel seemed unusually long, far more than 200 yards. Sweat was already dripping down his face.
Inside the protective suit, his clothes were soaked, clinging uncomfortably to his skin.
That short stretch of 200 yards took a full ten minutes of slow, cautious movement.
And those ten minutes felt like an eternity.
Just as they were about to reach the corner, Blake stopped again.
Glen, who was following behind Cade, was already getting impatient. “Why are we stopping again? Didn’t you say the threads above us were dangerous?”
As he spoke, he felt an itch at the back of his neck and instinctively reached up to scratch it.
But with the protective suit on, it only made things worse.
The itch wouldn’t go away, and it started to irritate him even more.
Cade shot him a look. “What are you rushing for? Didn’t I tell you to follow orders? Why are you so on edge today? What, you missing a woman or something?”
“Cut the crap! I’ve been in the army for almost six years, and I’m still clean, alright? What do you mean I’m missing a woman?”
Glen rolled his eyes, his mood growing even more irritable.

Chapter 327 Keep It Down
Cade elbowed him. “Keep your voice down, will you? Instead of running your mouth, why don’t you qu Blake what’s going on up there?”
Glen scoffed. “We’re too far. What am I supposed to shout?”
Draven turned his head and said, “Hey, man. Blake said, don’t move. There are more psychic threads at the corner ahead, even more complicated than the ones above us. He’s figuring out a way through
“What the hell…”
Glen couldn’t see any of those threads, and with the itching making him even more restless, he snapped. “Are we sure this isn’t bullshit? Can a level 5 mutated zombie really put out that many psychic threads? that’s true, are we even getting through this place?!”
“Cecelia and Blake are working on it!”
Draven rolled his eyes at him. “Our team captain was chosen by your captain. If you don’t trust Blake, then you’re basically saying you don’t trust your own captain!”
