“What?!”

Ryan’s eyes went wide as he stared at Regina. “Regina?”

Regina scratched the back of her head and gave an awkward laugh. “Yeah, that’s right. I’m level 2 now.”

“Dang it!”

Ryan nearly jumped to his feet.

He turned to Timothy, stubborn and unwilling to accept it. “Timothy, isn’t there still one crystal left? Let me try again!”

He refused to believe he was that unlucky.

If Regina could do it, why couldn’t he?

Timothy sighed and handed him the last zombie crystal.

Ryan grabbed it and dragged over a chair. He sat down, shut his eyes, and frowned as he focused.

It looked like he was trying with all his might to absorb the crystal’s energy.

“Use your ability to touch the crystal,” Hendrick said calmly. “Once it connects, the energy inside will activate and flow into your ability channels.”

Ryan’s brow tightened.

A faint trace of energy slipped out from his palm and touched the crystal.

The next moment, thin strands of energy leaked from the crystal and slid into his hand.

“I got it!”

Ryan’s eyes snapped open. His face lit up with excitement.

“I can feel the energy entering my body!”

“Good. Keep going,” Timothy said with a small smile.

Ryan raised the crystal and shot Cecelia a smug look. “See that? I can do it.”

“Oh?” Cecelia said calmly. “Then, why didn’t it work the first time?”

“I just didn’t know the method yet! Now I do!”

“In other words,” Cecelia said flatly, “you were just slow.”

“You brat!” Ryan glared at her, teeth clenched. “Whatever. A real man doesn’t argue with a woman. I’m not wasting time talking to someone without ability.”

He snorted and sat back down, focusing on absorbing the crystal again.

Timothy gave Cecelia a helpless look.

Cecelia stood and turned to Ivy. “Don’t you want to level up? Let’s go upstairs. I’ll keep you company.”

“Okay.” Ivy stood and nodded to the others. “Guys, I’m headed upstairs.”

Timothy grunted.

Matthew and Regina nodded as well.

Hendrick crossed his arms and watched Cecelia walk upstairs. His eyebrows lifted slightly, and a thoughtful look flashed across his eyes.

So now she knew how to hide things?

Maybe Ivy’s upgrade was different from everyone else’s.

“Hendrick?” Timothy tapped his shoulder.

Hendrick looked back. “Yeah?”

Timothy frowned. “When I ran out to chase Ryan earlier, did Cecelia say something to you guys?”

“Yeah,” Hendrick replied. “She mentioned a few things about abilities.”

He turned to Matthew. “Hey, repeat what Cecelia said to him.”

Matthew nodded and quickly retold everything Cecelia had explained earlier.

When Timothy heard the part about Ivy’s healing ability possibly curing the zombie virus in the future, his breath caught.

Shock filled his eyes.

Cecelia didn’t care what Timothy and the others were discussing downstairs.

Ivy sat on the bed, holding a crystal as she absorbed its energy. She had entered the process of leveling up.

Cecelia sat on the floor nearby. She took out the level 1 zombie crystal she had secretly kept earlier and studied it carefully.

“Blank Space counts as an ability,” she murmured. “But I don’t have ability channels. I can’t release energy either. How am I supposed to absorb the energy in this crystal?”

She rubbed her chin and thought for a moment. Then she closed her eyes and tried to absorb it.

Obviously, nothing happened.

She sat there with her eyes closed for a long time. Still nothing.

Finally, she decided to enter the Blank Space and look for another method.

But the moment she stepped inside, something felt wrong.

She opened her hand and looked down.

That zombie crystal lay quietly in her palm.

“Wait. That works too?”

Cecelia was stunned.

She turned the crystal over and over, staring at it in disbelief.

Then she returned to the real world and checked again. The crystal was still in her hand.

Next, she brought it back into the Blank Space.

She repeated this several times.

Only then did she confirm it. The crystal could really be brought to the Blank Space.

Cecelia’s eyes lit up with excitement.

She quickly ran to the small pool of cobalt fluid.

The fluid she had used earlier that morning had recovered a little.

Now the pool held only about a quarter inch of liquid.

She stared at it and began thinking. If this fluid could restore ability energy in the body, what would happen if she put the crystal inside it?
