Chapter 73 A Restriction
Timothy followed behind and asked Hendrick, “How are you feeling?”
Hendrick nodded. “I’m fine.”
But after answering, his gaze fell on Cecelia’s back as she walked ahead.
“How’s it going?”

When Ryan saw Cecelia walk straight inside without even stopping, he hurried over to ask Hendrick and Timothy.
Hendrick showed him the crystal.
Timothy then asked Ryan, “How are Ivy and the others upstairs?”
“Regina is still not doing well. That lazy bum said it’s because of her psychic ability. None of us can help.”
Ryan didn’t really believe Cecelia’s words.
But right now, there was no other way to wake Regina up.
So he could only repeat what Cecelia had said to Timothy and Hendrick.
The two of them immediately headed upstairs.
They saw several mutated zombie corpses scattered along the hallway, and the place was a complete mess.
When they entered the room, Regina was lying on the bed, her face pale as paper, barely breathing.
Ivy saw the three of them come in and asked anxiously, “Where’s Cece?”
“Downstairs,” Timothy replied.
Then he asked seriously, “Is Regina’s condition bad? Your upgraded ability can’t help her either?”
“It doesn’t work.”
Ivy looked guilty. “I’ve tried many times. She’s still like this. No matter how much I call her, she won’t wake up.”
Matthew had already collected all five mutated zombie crystals and handed them to Timothy.
Ryan looked at the crystals and suddenly had an idea. “Timothy, should we try letting Regina absorb a crystal?”
“If you want her to die faster, go ahead.”
Cecelia walked in through the doorway with her arms crossed, her tone cool and detached.
Hearing that, everyone turned to look at her.

Ryan said irritably, “So nothing works, huh? If you’re so capable, why don’t you come up with a solution, you useless lazy bum?!”
“Didn’t I already say it? She has to work through it herself. No one can help her with this. It’s just like how you can’t level up right now, even when you absorb crystals. How do you expect Timothy to help you? Absorb the crystal for you?”
Her lips twitched slightly.
Calling Ryan a dog wasn’t wrong.
Because he never listened properly when people talked.
“You… I…”
Ryan was so angry that he couldn’t even finish a sentence.
Timothy pulled him back and said sternly, “If Cecelia says so, then leave Regina alone. Let her rest on the bed, We’ll wait until she wakes up before we leave.”
No one spoke after hearing that.
Matthew continued cleaning the room.
Hendrick glanced at Cecelia and asked with a frown, “Does this only happen to psychic ability users?”
Cecelia nodded. “Psychic ability users are different from the rest. The stronger their ability becomes, the greater the risk they have to bear. You can think of it as a control issue. She hasn’t figured out how to control her psychic ability yet, so something like this happens. It’s basically the same as Ryan not knowing how to properly use his fire ability.”
“Who says I don’t know how to use my ability?”
Ryan bristled the moment he heard her trash–talking him like that.
Hendrick pressed a hand against Ryan’s face and pushed him back, frowning. “Stop arguing. Let her finish.”
Ryan looked helpless after getting his face shoved aside.
Cecelia glanced at Regina lying on the bed. “It shouldn’t be anything serious.”
Regina had simply awakened her psychic ability earlier than she had in her previous life.
She was still far from the point where it would become fatal.
Besides, that was only the instability caused by reaching level 2 psychic ability.
Compared to the symptoms that appeared after level 3 or level 4, that was much milder.
So it wasn’t a big problem.
Ivy said worriedly, “I didn’t expect the abilities inside our bodies could act up like this. And it just

happened to be the same day we got surrounded by mutated zombies…”
Finished
If Cecelia hadn’t shown up earlier in time, at least one of them would’ve been bitten or scratched by those mutated zombies.
Just thinking about it made her shiver.
Cecelia looked over and said softly, “Ivy, everything has two sides. That includes abilities. There will always be weaknesses. It’s a kind of restriction born from natural evolution.”
A restriction born from natural evolution?
Hendrick’s eyes narrowed slightly when he heard that. He looked at Cecelia intently. “So every type of ability actually has a weakness?”
“Yes.‘
Cecelia looked back at him and said flatly, “Abilities can also counter each other. As for how, we’ll only know when we run into it. If you want to have no weaknesses, the only way is to grow stronger faster than everyone else and stand at the very top of the food chain.”
Ryan crossed his arms and let out a snort. “Easy for you to say when you don’t even have an ability! Do you know how hard it is to level up an ability? Look at the mutated zombies we hunted today. There were six or seven of them, only level 1, and the four of us almost got wiped out…”
The thought still scared him.
His face didn’t look good.
Cecelia glanced at him. “In the apocalypse, weakness is the original sin. Instead of thinking about how hard it is to level up, you should think about how to level up as fast as possible. Zombies aren’t going to stand still and wait for you to get stronger before you hunt them. They’ll level up too. When more level 3 zombies start appearing everywhere, and you’re still level 1, you’ll just be easy prey.”
Ryan’s expression shifted, his back teeth grinding audibly.
