Chapter 95 The Beginning of Hell
Otherwise Ivy wouldn’t have needed to absorb more crystals to continue the treatment.
Hendrick nodded. “Yeah. I don’t really feel anything now.”
Ivy let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good.”

The main problem was that she still wasn’t very familiar with using her ability.
Finished.
On top of that, Hendrick’s injuries involved his internal organs. She could only keep releasing more of her ability to heal him until he woke up.
But judging from the current situation, Hendrick still hadn’t fully recovered. After she finished absorbing the remaining crystals, she would need to continue treating him.
“It’s good that Hendrick is okay.”
Matthew looked at everyone and analyzed the situation. “But even though this time we got lucky, it also tells us something. Merriton really isn’t a safe place to stay. Besides us, there are other ability users here, and none of them seem friendly. We should leave Merriton as soon as possible.”
Regina looked confused. “We only upgraded our abilities after finding zombie crystals. The ability user who attacked Hendrick… could it be the same situation?”
“Maybe.”
Timothy’s expression darkened. He wasn’t certain. If the other person hadn’t relied on zombie crystals to level up and had naturally evolved instead, that would make them extremely powerful.
They really did need to prepare to pass through Merriton as quickly as possible.
At a large supermarket somewhere in Merriton, Brandon returned with a gloomy expression.
The machete in his hand was still stained with the blood of that level 3 wind ability user.
He had been so close. Just a little bit more and he would have successfully taken the wind ability.
What a waste.
Clay saw the murderous look on Brandon’s face as he returned and quickly stepped forward. “Brandon, what happened?”
Brandon flicked the blood off the machete. “Nothing. Just killed a zombie.”
“Oh… Okay…”
Clay casually glanced at the blood on the blade.
In truth, it didn’t look like zombie blood at all. It looked much more like human blood.
Thinking about that, his expression shifted slightly, but he didn’t dare show it.

On top of that, Brandon showed no mercy when dealing with people who disobeyed him or anyone he simply didn’t like.
That was why no one dared to speak carelessly.
Usually only people like Clay and Arnold, who Brandon frequently called on, dared to approach him and talk.
“Brandon!”
Suddenly another voice came from the entrance.
A blond–haired young man named Fred Buckley walked over with more than a dozen people behind him. There were men and women, old and young.
“Hm?”
Brandon looked up and glanced at a few of the better–looking women in the group. He raised an eyebrow and asked Fred, “Where did you find them?”
Fred quickly put on a flattering smile. “We found them in a hotel not far from here. They’re survivors. They want to join our team and head to Briar City with us. What do you think, Brandon?”
Brandon looked over the dozen people and smiled. “Sure. The more people we have, the stronger we are. Traveling together means a better chance of survival.”
Then his tone shifted. His eyes narrowed dangerously. “But our team doesn’t keep useless people. Tell me what abilities you have. Or what skills you bring.”
The dozen people behind Fred looked at each other.
After a moment, a middle–aged man finally came forward. “I… I’m a chef. I can cook. And this is my daughter. She’s still in college, so she doesn’t really have any special skills…”
As he spoke, he pulled his daughter forward from behind him.
Brandon looked at the girl’s pretty face and immediately became interested. He laughed cheerfully. “That’s fine. Since you can cook, your daughter can help you in the kitchen from now on. What about the rest of you?”
