Approved for Her Rejected for Me novel Chapter 66

Chapter 8

It took three months for my strength to return completely.

My parents had died in a car accident six years earlier. There was no one left to arrange my mating

ceremony.

Hugo handled everything.

And he didn’t do anything halfway.

He brought in the most sought-after gown designer in the Southern Realm and told me to choose whatever I

liked.

For the bond ring, he flew to Paris and secured a ten-carat pink diamond at a private auction.

One of a kind.

He never said it outright, but it was obvious. He was trying to make up for every year we had lost.

He rarely left my side. Even official matters waited if I asked him to stay.

One evening, while fireworks burst beyond the balcony, I laughed.

“You’ve changed,” I teased. “You act like a possessive housewife.”

He pulled me into his chest without hesitation.

“You’re right,” he said calmly. “I am. I should never have pushed you away. Every day you were gone, I

regretted it.”

I looked down at the bond ring on my finger.

“So I wasn’t imagining it,” I said lightly. “You were following me back then. The night I got mugged and

someone stepped out of the alley to help me. That was you.”

His breath brushed my ear.

He didn’t deny it.

That explained why my mysterious rescuer vanished before I could thank him.

I turned to face him fully.

Time had marked us both. There were lines at the corners of his eyes that hadn’t been there before.

“I never cared that you were older,” I said. “I cared that you let gossip scare you into abandoning me.”

His expression tightened.

“I thought you deserved someone freer than me,” he said quietly. “Someone without the weight I carry. I didn’t

want you waking up one day resenting your choice.”

Emotion tightened my chest.

I lifted my wrist, showing him the faint burn scar.

“When you weren’t there, no one protected me.”

His control cracked.

He pressed his lips to the scar, slow and deliberate, as if sealing a promise.

Then he lifted me into his arms.

“Sleep,” he murmured, resting his forehead against mine. “Tomorrow, you become my mate.”

The mating ceremony was beyond anything I imagined.

Every influential Alpha, Beta, and pack leader across the werewolf world attended.

Crystal chandeliers. Velvet-lined aisles. Security tight enough to stop a war.

I stood in a white gown, palms damp.

Hugo held my hand as we greeted guests and stepped onto the red carpet.

Spotlights followed us.

Then I heard my name.

“Wynne.”

That voice.

Julian.

Our eyes locked across the hall.

He moved without thinking, shoving past guests and stepping onto the carpet.

Pain shot up my arm when he grabbed my wrist.

His eyes were bloodshot. Desperate.

“I’ve been looking for you everywhere,” he said, voice breaking. “Come back with me. We’ll redo the mating

ceremony. I’ll make you Luna in front of everyone. I won’t let anyone stop me this time. Tyla misses you. I

miss you.”

The entire hall went silent.

I pulled my hand free.
