The entire time, his arm remained locked around her waist. No matter how much she struggled, a little pressure from him was all it took to keep her pinned in place.

Seeing he seemed completely serious, Scarlett yelled urgently, “Vincent, snap out of it! Do you realize what you’re doing?” She was trying to shock him back to his senses.

But the more she struggled, the tighter his grip on her waist became.

Only when his shirt was fully open, revealing his muscular, well–defined chest, did he rise and push her down onto the sofa, looming over her.

His hand slid under her blouse, touching her warm, smooth skin.

Unlike his usual rush to the main event, this time there was a clear intention of foreplay.

Scarlett crossed her arms protectively over her chest. Tears of humiliation welled in her eyes, but Vincent acted as if he didn’t see her crying, lowering his head to kiss her lips.

He answered the call. “Vincent, you’re not at Ravenshade Villa?” Sabrina’s voice came through, sounding confused.

Vincent replied flatly, “No, I’m at Stewart Manor.”

Sabrina seemed to be crying; her voice was terribly hoarse. She asked tentatively, “Can you come back? There’s something I need to talk to you about.”

Hearing her tears, Vincent stood up immediately. Not bothering with his open shirt, he agreed, “Okay, I’ll be right there.”

After ending the call, he started buttoning his shirt while looking at Scarlett.

She was huddled in the corner of the sofa, arms wrapped tightly around herself.

She seemed to be crying, her shoulders shaking slightly.

Seeing this, a flicker of guilt passed through Vincent. But it quickly faded.

He hadn’t meant to hurt her; he just wanted to prove himself.

What was so wrong about that?

What man could tolerate that kind of insult?

Once he had straightened his clothes, he tucked the condom back into his suit pocket.

He looked down at Scarlett. “Sabrina needs me for something. I have to go.”

Hearing this, she lifted her face. Her eyes were bloodshot, dense with red veins. She glared at Vincent and demanded sharply, “So what was the point of bringing me here? What was your real goal?”

Vincent explained softly, “The marriage certificates really are with Grandpa.”

Scarlett let out a bitter laugh. “And so? What are you trying to say? That I should be the one to tell Grandpa? To tell him I’m the one who wants the divorce?”

Vincent frowned, confused. “But aren’t you the one who keeps bringing up divorce?”

Hearing this, Scarlett laughed until tears streamed down her face.

Yes, she was the one who brought up divorce.

But why did she bring it up?

He, Vincent, was the one who knew the reason best of all.

Seeing Vincent’s self–righteous attitude, anger surged in her. “Vincent, I could also choose not to mention divorce. As long as I don’t say the word, then some people will never have their place legitimized.”

Just then, Vincent’s phone rang again. It was still Sabrina, crying as she asked, “Vincent, are you almost here?”

Hearing her sob, he quickly replied, “Almost. Don’t cry, I’m here for you.” He spoke into the phone while walking out of the bedroom without a backward glance.

Watching his resolute departing figure, Scarlett let out a bitter, choked laugh.

If he wasn’t willing to get them, then Scarlett would.

Xavier was asleep now, so she would find another time to be honest with him.

They were getting divorced anyway; they couldn’t hide it from Xavier forever.

Having made up her mind, Scarlett decided to return to Theron Manor first. Someone was waiting for her there.

When Vincent returned to Ravenshade Villa, Sabrina was sitting alone in the living room. A few crumpled tissues lay on the coffee table, likely from her wiping her tears.

Hearing footsteps at the door, Sabrina turned. Seeing Vincent, she stood up and ran to him, throwing her arms around him tightly. “Vincent, you’re finally back.”

The impact made Vincent take a slight step back, but he steadied himself.

He gently held her shoulders and asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

Sabrina sobbed, “Mom said her stomach hurts again. She said she’s afraid she might…” She couldn’t finish the sentence.

Vincent quickly comforted her. “It’s okay. Medical science is advanced now. The biopsy already confirmed your mother’s tumor is benign. She’ll be fine, don’t worry.”

But Sabrina kept crying. “But she keeps talking about unfinished wishes, and we had a fight…
