It was already very late. Worried, Scarlett said, “Let me come with you.”

Touched by her concern, Violet reached out and gently patted her cheek. “It’s alright, really. I can go alone. Clara’s still here–she’ll be upset if she wakes up and finds both of us gone.”

Scarlett insisted, “Violet, I really think-”

But Violet cut her off gently yet firmly. “It’s settled. I should get going now. You go upstairs, get washed up, and stay with Clara.”

Seeing her determination, Scarlett didn’t push further.

After Violet left the hall, Scarlett stood for a long moment, a growing unease settling in her chest. Eventually, she decided to follow her out.

By the time she reached the manor’s main entrance, she saw Violet stepping into a dark sedan.

Violet took the back seat. As the car pulled away, Scarlett caught a clear glimpse of the driver.

If she remembered correctly, she had seen him before–he was Daniel’s personal assistant.

Why would Violet get into a car driven by Daniel’s assistant so late at night?

Could there be any truth to what Daniel had said earlier?

No, it was impossible. Scarlett refused to believe it.

Walking back inside, she called Nathan.

When he answered, Scarlett asked, “Nathan, are you coming back tonight?”

After a brief pause, he replied, “If I do, it’ll be

very late.”

Scarlett said, “I’ll wait up for you. No matter how late, I’ll wait.”

Nathan’s tone turned firm. “Go to sleep. Don’t wait for me.”

Hearing the finality in Nathan’s voice, Scarlett didn’t dare argue further.

After hanging up, she remained standing in the hallway, her mind racing.

She couldn’t make sense of why Violet would get into a car with Daniel’s assistant in the middle of the night.

But she trusted Violet completely. She would never be the kind of person Daniel had described.

Back in her bedroom, after her shower, Scarlett received a message from Claire.

“Scarlett, Violet is being pressured to drink.”

Attached was a photo.

The picture showed a large, upscale private dining room. Besides Daniel, there were several other men she didn’t recognize.

Panic surged through Scarlett. She quickly typed back, “Where is this? How did you get this photo?”

Claire replied, “I’m sending you the location now. A friend of mine who works there as a server took the photo. I saw Violet earlier and was worried, so I asked someone to keep an eye on the situation.”

Once she had the address, Scarlett told Claire, “Got it. Please keep watching. I’m on my way.”

Without even properly drying her hair, Scarlett threw on some clothes and rushed out.

The drive took about twenty minutes.

Claire, who had been waiting outside, hurried over as soon as Scarlett pulled up.

They entered the restaurant together, and Claire pointed to a private room named “The Florentine“. “Violet’s in there.”

Scarlett knocked firmly on the door. A deep male voice called out from inside, “We’re not ordering anything else.”

After he spoke, Scarlett heard Daniel’s voice clearly. “Caleb, she’s completely out. Go ahead, take her with you. You know what they say–opportunity knocks but once. Don’t waste a chance like this.”

Then another man’s voice replied, “Alright then. I’ll take her.”

Hearing this, Scarlett understood exactly what was happening. She couldn’t hold back any longer. With one powerful kick, she slammed the door open.

The sudden crash startled everyone inside. All eyes turned toward the doorway, filled with confusion and surprise.

Scarlett stormed in and saw Violet slumped unconscious over the table. The man closest to her was just reaching out to lift her.

There were only two men in the room now–Daniel and another man Scarlett didn’t recognize.

The man who was about to touch Violet frowned deeply at the intrusion. “What the hell is this? You looking for trouble?”

Scarlett had come prepared. She was carrying a small tactical knife in her pocket.

Her face was cold as ice. “Don’t you dare lay a hand on Violet,” she said, her voice low and dangerous.

The man looked intrigued. His eyes roamed over Scarlett, his gaze unpleasant and predatory.

Seeing Scarlett causing trouble again, Daniel lost his temper. “Scarlett, not only are you shameless, but you also have terrible timing.”

Ignoring him, Scarlett swept a plate off the table with a crash. “Daniel, don’t you dare act innocent! You got Violet drunk and set her up to be assaulted. Did you really think you’d get away with it?”

Claire had followed Scarlett into the room. Standing firmly beside her, she announced, “We’ve already called the police. You can explain everything to them.”

Hearing this, both Daniel and the other man visibly paled.

Exchanging a quick glance, they stood up and headed for the door.

As he passed Scarlett, Daniel gave her a long, hostile glare. The other man simply muttered, “This just got interesting,” before following Daniel out.
