Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 573

Vincent's expression was unreadable. He kept his voice low. "Yeah."

After telling Vanessa to go to bed early and get some rest, he ended the call.

He stood by the window, his thoughts all jumbled up, and that uneasy feeling about Vanessa's sudden shift in attitude crept back in.

But what was he even suspecting?

That Vanessa really did push Scarlett?

No way.

He refused to believe that.

He finished his cigarette, then finally headed back to the hospital room.

When he pushed the door open and stepped inside, Sabrina, who'd been lying on the narrow hospital bed, suddenly opened her eyes.

Seeing her awake, Vincent asked, a little guilty, "Did I wake you?"

Sabrina sat up and leaned back against the railing of the bed. "No, I'm just a light sleeper."

Vincent walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed. "You feeling any better?"

She nodded. "Yeah, much better."

Her car had gotten banged up in the accident too, so she'd taken some hits herself.

Hearing that, Vincent gave a small smile. "Good. Glad to hear it."

Sabrina noticed how exhausted he looked and couldn't help saying, "Vincent, you've been working so hard."

He brushed it off with a light chuckle. "Long as you're okay, that's what matters."

But he still seemed off. Sabrina pressed a little. "Vincent, is something bothering you?"

He shook his head. "No."

He paused for a second, then added, "Oh, Vanessa called earlier. Said she misses you and wants to sleep next to you."

Sabrina laughed softly. "I miss her too. Actually, let me give her a quick call."

And just like that, she dialed Vanessa's number.

Watching them chat away, Vincent stayed quiet.

But he couldn't help thinking—if it were Scarlett, she'd never even think about calling Vanessa this late.

Scarlett always put Vanessa first, above everything.

Sabrina, though? She didn't seem to think twice about it. It didn't even occur to her that calling at this hour might not be the best idea.

Since she'd already made the call, Vincent didn't feel like stopping her.

He walked over to the window and pulled out his phone. Almost without thinking, he opened his chat history with Scarlett. Looking through it, he realized most of the messages were from her.
