Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 640

Violet spoke softly, "Please don't, Mr. Huntley."

Nolan straightened up, his expression turning serious. "Then I should be going."

"Let me walk you out," Violet offered quickly before he could refuse, already stepping toward the door. Nolan said nothing more.

When Violet returned after seeing him off, she found Diana and Henry on the living room couch, both looking weary.

"What's with the long faces?" Violet asked.

Diana let out a sigh. "He's such a good man. I just wish we knew what Scarlett really wants."

Violet gave a gentle smile. "Diana, this is Scarlett's decision to make. She has to choose for herself this time."

Diana shook her head, her eyes growing moist. "I'm just afraid she'll make the same kind of mistake again. How many seven or eight years does a person really have?"

"Try not to overthink it," Violet reassured her. "The more we worry, the cloudier things get, right?"

Diana fell silent, lowering her gaze.

Upstairs, Scarlett had heard every word.

Maybe it was time to talk to Nolan and clear the air.

She spent the whole day at home, turning over how to approach him—even jotting down notes in her journal.

Before she knew it, the day had slipped away.

Evening came, and snow began to fall again.

Though it was just past five, the sky had already darkened.

A housekeeper came upstairs to call her. "Ms. Theron, dinner is ready."

The Theron household only employed one housekeeper.

Scarlett reached for her crutches and made her way slowly out of the room. "Thank you, I'll be right down."

"Let me bring your wheelchair," the housekeeper offered.

Scarlett replied softly, "I appreciate it."

Just as she reached the foot of the stairs, the front door opened and a tall figure stepped inside—Damian.

Scarlett wasn't surprised to see him.

Lately, he'd been around Theron Manor often, coming and going almost like family.

Spotting her on crutches, Damian walked straight over. "Why aren't you using the wheelchair?"

As he spoke, he took her arm gently.

Scarlett looked up at him. "Sitting too long gets uncomfortable, so I wanted to move around a little."

He didn't have the heart to argue. Instead, he helped her to the dining table and pulled out her chair.

Once she was seated, Damian headed into the kitchen to help Diana bring out the dishes.
