Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 650

Claire glanced toward the pharmacy across the mall—it was clear on the other side of the building, a good twenty-minute walk from where they stood.

Scarlett felt her stomach tighten as she noticed Claire's face growing paler, a sheen of cold sweat spreading across her forehead.

Just then, a voice cut through the quiet. "Claire."

Scarlett turned to see Harris approaching. He took one look at Claire's condition and, without hesitation, swept her up into his arms.

Without a word, he carried her to his car and gently helped her into the back seat.

Meanwhile, Vincent had just finished a call and was walking out with Sabrina and Vanessa, each holding one of his hands. They stopped in their tracks, their eyes landing on the scene unfolding nearby.

Vanessa pointed, her voice bright with curiosity. "Daddy, isn't that Harris?"

Both Vincent and Sabrina froze, their gazes locked on Scarlett.

After settling Claire in the car, Harris turned back to Scarlett. "Ms. Theron, you..." He reached out, hesitating—unsure whether to offer his arm or help her in some other way.

Seeing his flustered expression, Scarlett shook her head lightly. "I'm fine, I can manage."

She made her way to the car, leaning on her cane with careful steps. Harris gently took the cane from her once she was seated and placed it in the passenger seat before getting behind the wheel.

The car pulled away, and Harris never once noticed Vincent and Sabrina standing there—his thoughts were completely occupied with worry over Claire's injury.

As soon as they were on the road, he pressed a bit harder on the accelerator.

Back on the sidewalk, Sabrina watched the car disappear, a dull ache settling in her chest. Harris' gentle attention toward Claire and Scarlett hadn't gone unnoticed—and it stung.

She glanced sideways at Vincent. His expression was dark, stormier than she'd seen it in a while.

Quietly, she ventured, "When did Harris get so close to them?"

Vincent didn't answer. His eyes remained fixed on the spot where Harris' car had vanished, his mind replaying the words Harris had spoken to him in the parking lot that day.

When he stayed silent, Vanessa chimed in with a huff, "Anyone who's nice to Mommy's enemies is no good. I'm not talking to Harris anymore!"

Sabrina knew Vincent was already on edge, and Vanessa's remark wasn't helping. Softly, she corrected her, "Vanessa, that's not how we talk. Harris is Daddy's good friend."

But Vanessa just crossed her arms and muttered under her breath, "No, he's not."

Vincent stood there a moment longer before finally saying, "Let's head back to Ravenshade Villa."

With that, he turned and walked toward their car without waiting for Sabrina or Vanessa.
