Several burly bodyguards in black suits were standing outside a trading company at the edge of the finance district.

Inside, Janet was pushing Madison around in her wheelchair. Several elite professionals were following them, and all of them were taking photos with their phones.

The staff of the company and their manager were blocked from entering, and they did not dare to protest despite their indignation.

Johnny and Kaitlyn arrived in a panic. "Maddi—"

Johnny instinctively wanted to call Madison by her nickname, but he thought of her warning that morning just as the words were about to spill out.

He hastily changed tack. "Madison, why did you bring these people here?"

Sitting in her wheelchair, Madison cocked her head to one side. A smile played on her lips as she said, "If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have known that you were able to start a company, Johnny."

Johnny's expression became awkward at once. He had started the company behind Madison's back to leave a way out for himself.

Johnny looked abashed as he explained. "We only just started recently, and it's not very big. I was going to tell you once it went public."

Madison raised an eyebrow. Before she could say anything, she heard the sound of Janet's derisive laughter above her head.

"This company isn't big, but it's already worth tens of millions even though it hasn't gone public yet. You're very modest, Mr. York."

Johnny turned bright red at being exposed, out of either shame or anger.

Kaitlyn inwardly cursed him for being such a useless loser. He had been rendered speechless by Madison and Janet so easily!

Kaitlyn stepped forward. "Madison, Janet, why did you bring so many people here?"

He had even gone to the bank before handing it to Madison, as he had planned to cash it himself. However, he had refrained from doing so as he had bigger plans.

Kaitlyn remembered the check and immediately felt a wrench in her chest. She could have bought several limited-edition Louis Vuitton bags with that amount of money.

She immediately spoke up for Johnny. "Madison, we went to the bank to ask about that check. It's valid and can be cashed!

"You're not trying to cause trouble because you're regretting the fact that you let us leave, are you?" Kaitlyn looked warily at Madison.

Both Madison and Janet were rendered speechless.

"Kaitlyn, why would Maddie want to cause trouble for insignificant scum like you two?" Janet rolled her eyes at Kaitlyn.

Madison nodded in agreement. "I could start several companies in the time that it takes me to cause trouble for you two. Alright, let's not waste our time on this useless chatter."
